I have been doing my planning our trip and it seems everything will be on site with the exception of maybe a couple of dinners and titanic. We will be renting a mini van so transportation will not be a problem. So what about you do you still spend most of your time onsite?

We used to, all the time. We'd rent Disney sailboats, eat at Disney resort restaurants, wander the resorts looking for Hidden Mickeys and pressed pennies. Over the years, we started staying at nicer offsite resorts and so we've been enjoying more of what is available at them. We've also started to visit other attractions more. Orlando has so much to offer!!! :)

We always stay off-site but spend a lot of time on Disney Property. We tour the resorts, lay on the Poly beach and watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks and electric water Pageant, park our car and hike all around the Disney Properties, etc.

We're staying offsite this trip but would like to do the hidden Mickey tours and visit the animals ay FW.Last year at the gates to the resorts we had to show ID and our resort keys to the All Stars. If we are staying off site will we still be able to tour on site resorts?
Thanks

We do the same. We usually stay offsite and basically spend all our time onsite with the exception of sleeping and kids naps.

We always stay offsite (way cheaper and lots more space), but we spend the vast majority of our time onsite. Yes, you can still visit the onsite hotels. Just tell the guard you're coming for lunch or dinner and he'll let you in.

Offsite, we do some shopping (Belz, Premium Outlets), eat some meals, visit Celebration, do our food shopping for the week, and spend some time at Old Town (especially last trip when we stayed at the Old Town Days Suites).

That's the beauty of it. While I'm enjoying a drink at the Tambu Lounge, or a character meal at the Grand Floridian, or dessert at the California Grille, I think to myself, "Wow...and I didn't have to fork over the $$$$$$$ to stay here.":p

Then, when I go back to my hotel to sleep at night, I dream about all the future trips I'll take because of the $$$$$$$ saved staying offsite:tongue: :teeth: :smooth:
