Do you spend more money with each DVC trip you take or LESS money???

I have to agree we spend less per day but more on the trip.

The DVC annual passes have saved us money as has the TIW card on meals.

We are more selective about what we purchase but I also think this has much to do with how many years you have been going and how often you go.

We generally have one meal out per day and for the rest we use the kitchen.

We load up on pins from e-bay before the trip and do a lot of pin trading which also reduces that need for souvenirs because you trade for pins that mean something to you.

well it use to be alot less.

when OKW was new - we got free tickets - so prepaid rooms plus free tickets - that means only had to paid for transportation and food. Did not do souveniors then.

now buy annual passes so not to expensive but my big expensive is when traveling with others who want DDP.

For us, it's definitely less per trip.

Now we plan 2 trips within 12 months so we can take advantage of DVC AP discount and the TIW.

We've noticed a significant drop in the apparel quality, so we rarely purchase Disney apparel anymore. I purchased a sweatshirt back in the 90's and it's outlasted sweatshirts purchased just a few years ago.

Our biggest souvenir purchases now are photos. A picture of a magical moment lasts a lifetime.

We also spend less on food. We now get some groceries, which is something we never did before DVC. Water, bagels, fruit, etc saves us quite a bit.

Now that we plan further ahead we're able to save more on flights. Of course, it doesn't hurt that Southwest Airlines came to our state shortly after we joined DVC.

We buy less and less because we are getting better at going. Magical Express, WeGoShop, and meal plan all have helped in the process. The kids are tough to slow down, but I think I have them in range. We all spend too much time playing in the park to think about too much else.... :cool1:

Less - by hundreds. We have a ton of Disney stuff already and have found it's more fun to look at the new stuff, leave it on the shelf and ogle it again on a future return visit than it is to buy/bring it home and become bored by it.

Part of the cut back in purchases is because the kids are getting older and aren't as impulsive any more. I also don't buy T shirts as they've all become billboards for Disney with no imagination to the styles. No thanks. If they came up with more subtly decorated items that actually look good on real people I'd consider it again.

I was gonna say our total spending is probably unchanged 'cuz we buy less "crap" now. But we eat more TS meals than we used to...still places I want to try and we spend more time at Epcot with each trip. So actually, we probably spend MORE now!!:lmao:

Well said.

Thankfully, after 50+ Disney visits since it's opening, souvenirs, souvenir cups, T-shirts etc. are no longer part of my world. (DS) 13, over the years has had one of every thing Disney ever marketed for boys, but he's now past that stage and at Disney is more interested in what cute girls are there!

I do utilize the villa kitchens to save some money so that we can treat ourselves to places like Todd English's Blue Zoo and such, so in the end I'm pretty much spending the same money and maybe even a little more.
