Apparently my oldest daughter and one of her friends sneaked in 2! pizzas! they put the slices in ziplocs-they went with a large group of friends and shared the pizzas around. They did buy sodas there though. No, too much bother it's easier to buy it there. I like popcorn and pizza and couldn't imagine sneaking that in.
I've been to it several times. The problem I found is that once the show starts ya can't see your food, at all.Honestly, it's not so much the high prices, as it is the selection. Our theater has such limited choices: popcorn, candy, slushies, water, Vitamin Water, & fountain drinks. Aside from the fountain drinks & the Vitamin Water, I really don't crave any of that to watch a movie. I wish our theater sold hot pretzels or dinner food or appetizers or trail mix-that's the stuff I would like to munch on while watching a movie. I'm dying to go to that "dine-in" movie theater that they have in Downtown Disney. We have one theater that is similar to that place, but they don't show new movies-mostly classics & independent films
I sneak in food but only to bribe the unruly children with![]()
I am feeling juvenile tonight, but take some stale Mike And Ikes and pop the bad movie goers in the head, lol.
You can use the same argument for what many people would try to save costs at Disney and get BLASTED for here...So let's see; I just went to see Mad Max. They charged me $6.25 for a large Coca-Cola Icee ($1.79 at the local 7-11), and each box of candy was about $4 for a portion size half of what CVS/Walgreens charges $1-$1.50 for.
I decided years ago that I had zero guilt about smuggling candy in. There's making a profit, there's blatant overcharging and then there's obscene gouging. I put most movie theatres in the last category. When they decide to only overcharge me by a couple of bucks instead of $5-10 on top of my movie ticket, I'll resume buying candy in the theatre. Until then, pants with baggy pockets rule!
No. This is because I don't go to the theater, I built one at home. I bet there are people in this thread who admit to sneaking food into movies who gave me grief in a previous thread for suggesting that I might try to get a 10 year old into DLR on the child's ticket lol. You people are funny.
I just think double standards are funny. You're not over that yet?
I have at times brought in candy - but I usually just buy popcorn and bottled water.
