We just got one in my area, it's a pretty neat store. I really liked their food and wine section.

Love World Market, but the nearest one is in Orlando-wah!

Yes, their wine selection IS really good and I love the foods from around the world.

I've never heard of any of these places. I must really be out of the loop!!

Are you talking about Cost Plus?

Must be the same company because that's how it showed up on my bank statement after I used my debit card; "cost plus."

The store here is called World Market.

I laughed when I overheard several woman who had just walked in and made the comment "what kind of flea market is this?" :lmao:

I just realized (and my DH confirmed) that it's called World Market, but I could've sworn the store was called World Bazaar! Now I'm going to have to go back and make sure! :rotfl: (and take a photo too!)

Yes,there's the coolest stuff for my DD's room. I love the boxed sets of glasses and the Christmas plates-those are great wedding gifts.

Cost Plus was started in San Francisco and they added World Market when they went public. The orginial store at Fisherman's Wharf is beyond HUGE and worth a special trip.

Whenever I see people stocking up on souvenirs at the World Showcase at Epcot I can't help but think, "They must not have Cost Plus at home." :thumbsup2

It's called Cost Plus World Market here and I do get in there from time to time. They have some unusua things at good prices. Also their cashiers and people that work there are pretty friendly and helpful.

I don't YET, but will soon. One is opening in a new shopping center being built by my house. :teeth:

Love it for stocking stuffers and interesting food and things. Good things there for making gift baskets too!

I've been to Cost Plus @ San Fran and been amazed ... it's really strange that these haven't popped up more frequently on the East Coast.

I think that's because the shipping costs to bring the stuff further east would be too much, unless the companies are as big as Pier One.

I love the dollar stores in CA. They have sooo much better stuff than east coat dollar stores. Again, I believe it's because the ships (from China) just have to dock & unload. Trucks & companies local to the west coast just drive up & take the stuff away for sale. :drive:

We have an AMISH Market :thumbsup2 . May be not quite as worldly, but great food!!

We have a big one here in Birmingham and it's one of my favorite stores!

Thank you for the info about San Fran! We're headed there sometime next year, and it'll be nice to see the original.

There was one in a shopping center behind the mall I worked in up north, and it was great to pop in there for a bottle of wine whenever I needed a gift.

A couple of months ago, I got a friend (then a coworker, too) hooked on it. There is one in Jacksonville, and when visiting her, brought her there. I was telling the coworker, now every time she's in Jax, she has to pay a visit, lol.

I second that.
There stuff is beautiful.

I love World Market! They have a great wine selection and good stocking stuffers. :thumbsup2 I like their furniture also- I replaced a lot of the furniture I lost in Katrina with furniture from World Market and I am pleased so far. It is real wood, interesting, and reasonably priced. They get some interesting dishes and kitchen items in there also.

I was in Ephrata (Lancaster County) in October at a huge indoor/outdoor flea market called the Green Dragon. I had the best pumpkin muffin with a cream cheese filling! I only bought one because I wasn't sure how it would be. It was out of this world delicious!

I want to go back just for those muffins!
