Do you refer to your favorite sports team as...

"we" or "our" ??? In other words, do you say "We won that game" or "Our defense was tough" ??? I have caught myself doing that a lot lately. I know some people hate this habit, while others see nothing wrong with it. What do you think? Do you say "The Wildcats won!" or "We won!" ? I think it might be a regional thing...

BTW, personally, with UK I try to refer to them as "UK" or "the Cats." With U of L I see nothing wrong with it, considering it's my school, I know some of the players, and part of my tuition goes to pay for "my" team. What do you all do ?

I always say we w/ U of L , w/ UK I just tell my Dad congrats that his team won.

For our HS team yes, I went there and so did my boys. I am a huge HS football fan.

For any other teams, no. DS says it about the Terps but he went there.

My FIL says it about the Yankees and it drives me nuts, I don't know why, it just does.

I always say we when it comes to Oklahoma. I've worked for the athletic department, my boyfriend's worked in athletic video, I know a bunch of the players on the football and baseball teams, and I go to school there.

I don't really say it when I'm talking about the Cowboys or the Mavericks, though. I guess I just don't feel as strong of a connection.
