OK, not asking for flames but it amazes me so many people say they like scifi ( our meal there was absolutely the worst food and close to the worst service i have probably had in my 50+ yrs of dining out :rotfl: )

so do you really think the food is good ( ours was so burnt it was way beyond "charred" so it's not just it didn't agree with our tastes, it was inedible and if it hadn't taken almost an hr to get we would have sent it back but we were totally fed up by then it was just one more nail in the coffin so to speak)or do you like the atmosphere so you are willing to settle for mediocre food? did we hit a totally off night and it 's great all the other times?

We ate at SciFi for the first time last week. We had made reservations for four, but ran into some friends and asked if we could change our reservation to a party of eight. The hostess was very accomadating and seated the eight of us within minutes of our arrival. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive and never kept us waiting for anything. We ordered the standard fare-burgers, fries, onion rings and shakes. The food was nothing to write home about, but it was fine (actually, the shakes were great). We enjoyed the atmosphere very much. As far as Disney food prices go, it was pretty reasonable. Sounds like this place is very hit or miss, but based on our experience, we would go back.

we recently ate at Sci Fi for the first time. The staff were great, the atmosphere is gteat, the food is.......SO-SO. I think it was overpriced. I got the chicken ceasar salad, and it was the exact same salad for the POP food court, but for double the price. I did enjoy my desert though - cheesecake with caramel popcorn - YUMMY!!! If we do dining plan again, we would probably go back since we weren't concerned about meal cost. But if we had to pay out of pocket at the meal - we'd probably skip it. Kind of a been there done that thing.

We ate there twice in the last two weeks (once on our own and once we took my parents back to relive their drive-in days!). We found the food to be acceptable - we had standard burgers, fries, onion rings, milkshakes, DH had the reuben. I don't think it is the food that draws you in, but the atmosphere. Our service was great both times (in fact the second time, our waitress bordered on too chatty). Our food came promptly and was good. We really enjoyed it.

My hubby and I ate at SciFi on our Honeymoon and we thought it was the worst food we ever had!!! That is one place we will never go back to. But that's my 2 cents.

We ate there a couple of years ago. The food was ok. We felt like it was overpriced. I actually had a hard time finding something on the menu that I really liked. My DD LOVED sitting in the cars. I didn't like the fact that the whole family couldn't sit together. My DH and DD sat in one row, I sat by myself behind them, and a couple that we didn't know sat in the very back row. The waiter was hilarious - he was the best thing about the restaurant.

We ate there two years ago and didn't have any problems. The service was fine. Drinks were refilled and server was friendly. The food was fine too. Hot and cooked how we wanted. We do plan on going back.

We've eaten there several times and have never had a bad experience. Food has always been good, as well as the service.

When we ate there in december the food was okay. I have had better in some places but it wasnt horrible. We did not order anything too fancy though. Mostly we ate there for the kids. They like the atmosphere and we thought it would be fun. Next time we go though we are going to try something else though.

Sci Fi is one of our favorite restaurants, and we eat there every trip.

We always go for lunch instead of dinner because the lunch menu has the food that we want - burgers, fries, onion rings, shakes. We go mostly for the theming, but our food has always been good because we stick to the basics. I really can't imagine eating anything more elaborate at a place like Sci Fi.

Our service has varied from average to really good, but we've never had poor service there.

We can't wait to go back to Sci Fi!

We've been there twice. The food is nothing spectacular, but we haven't had a horrible meal. The service was good. Like others have said, you go there for the atmosphere. I know we will go back again.

I thought the atmosphere was great, but the food was just okay. I had a great time there, and I will return someday, but it is not at the top of my must-do-every-trip list.

I've heard the food is so so, but the atmosphere is cool. We are going to do a late afternoon milkshake and onion ring break. Just to see what it's like.

Been there a few times, always have had a good meal.

We ate there in May 04 for my son's 9th birthday, at his request. We thought it was fun! The food was fine...nothing gourmet about it, but edible! I had a chicken sandwich, dh had a reuben, and the boys had burgers. The shakes were AWESOME (cookies and cream shake, I believe!)

We actually loved the seating. The two boys sat in the front seat, and my dh and I sat behind them. It was sort of like a "date"! LOL

It's not a place we have to eat every trip, but we'd like to go back again someday!

We went to Sci Fi back in Sep with a party of 7. We had made reservations, and when we did were promised 2 cars. When we were seated we were jammed into one car. 3 of us had to sit in one seat, which if you have been there before is not very comfortable, never mind the fact that you have to eat on top of each other. Food was pretty bad. Couldnt find anything on the menu that stood out to me. Would not visit there again. :furious:

Sci Fi is one of my favorite resturants in disney, we seem to eat there at least once every trip. I love the atmosphere, the tables, the shows, the cm's. The food.... well it's ify. The onion rings are delicious as are their desserts. The last time we were there, my burger was scorched, barely eatible. Haven't tried much of anything else there so can't say. I want to try the ribs, but not sure how root beer drenched ribs would be?

Sci Fi is one of my favorites, I LOVE the atmosphere. I actually never had a horrible meal there, what I've had has always been good enough. It is one of the restaurants where I really feel like I'm in WDW!!

We've eaten there twice, the food was pretty good. The atmosphere was cool. The second time we were in a car in the very front and I had a headache when we left from looking up at the screen. We're not going back there in April, but probably will on another trip.

I for one will defend SciFi to the end. I love the atmosphere, but have to admidt, the food is not all that great. It has become a family tradition for us to do SciFi on every trip, though. After all, how bad can they screw up a cheeseburger? Go and have a great time. SciFi is great fun.
