Do you pool hop?

If so, to which pools do you usually hop? (And yes, I do have a mental image of DVC Members literally hopping around Resort pool decks!)

It will probably be cold when we are there next, but if it's not too frigid, I would like to give it a try. Which pool-hopping-allowed Resort has the most convenient changing areas for DVCers? Have you noticed any pools that seem warmer than others? Which pools have the closest changing areas so that it's just a quick dash from the pool to warm clothing? Are there any exceptional hot tubs on property, or all they all similar to one another?

No, it is just too much trouble. I have never even told my guests they could do this.

Yes, we have pool hopped. On that note, I prefer not to say where we hop to - if I do, I have a feeling that people at "X" resort feel that their pool is too crowded with pool hoppers. ;)

Nope, we don't pool-hop either. I just can't see getting all our stuff together, hiking over to another resort, swimming in a different crowded pool and then trying to change in a bathroom or traveling back to my own resort in a dripping bathing suit. I don't really think any of the other resort pools are any nicer than the dvc resort pools.

Would it maybe have something that erupts in it?? If so, that would be the pool dd would hop to. I don't see the allure. It's small, the water is too warm in the hot months and it's most often too crowded.

Nope we don't pool hop either. Of course we aren't big lay out by the pool people. I prefer to take a quick dip in the pool in the evening to relax and I'd just rather do that at the resort I'm staying at.

Only SSR's quiet pool with it's view of DTD would tempt me!

We don't pool hop, it seems like too much trouble. I very much like lazy rivers, so if we're not at BCV, we go to TL or BB.

Ditto for us.

Best wishes -

Yes, we pool hop and enjoy it. We look at it as exploring Disney. We have gone to SAB when it was available to us and have been to dragon pool at French place and last trip we did the carribean. My kids love to do it. We just take a bus to marketplace and wait for the resort bus.

We have always pool hopped in the past but this was all before the installation of the new pool slide at OKW...now we probably won't much anymore since we finally have a slide :) That being said, we like the pools at both the GF and the POLY...the GF one just a tad better as it's not quite as crowded. But both have nice changing rooms at the pool with showers and both have a jumping fountain (like the one in Epcot between Future world and world showcase). My ds is 4 and loves the jumping fountains so we may still hop once in a while. But anyway, those are our top picks. We also like the pool at FQ and POR too but have to say the GF one is the nicest and has both the jumping fountain and changing facility.

CSR has a pretty darn nice pool, with a very big hot tub. If you had a car, I could see taking a jaunt over there.

I would never do it without a car, but if you have one, why not? It's a nice way to kill a non-park day.

We are fairly new to DVC, but I can't ever imagine doing this. Pool hopping was NOT a factor in our decision to purchase DVC. To me, pool water is pool water. All of the DVC resorts seem to have nice pools. We don't rent cars. I can't imagine wasting time using Disney transportation just to swim at another resort's pool. We have DVC friends who don't pool hop and complain it makes the BWV pool too crowded. They have this thing where they go on and on how it's not fair that it's banned at BCV, but allowed a BWV. They started staying at OKW because of it! It's kind of funny to us. Of course, we don't do "pool days" like they do. I guess I can see how it would be annoying to always have your pool crowed . :flower:

We pool hopped to 3 different pools on our trip. We loved the Poly pool, BW pool was a blast, and then tried out the High Rock Springs pool at SSR. We had a full say off of the parks planned - so we had time to try out a few. My kids love the different water slides, and I had never been to the other resorts and we wanted to get a taste for what the others were like. We used the bus system and monorail and it wasn't too much of a pain.

We've pool hopped once--on our last trip home to OKW we rode our bikes over to SSR and tried out the main pool there. I prefer Southpoint pool, but it was fun to have a bike ride, do some swimming, have a snack at Artist's Palette, and then bike back home! :sunny:

We have pool hopped a couple of times. Once to SAB (before it was banned) and once to "The-Pool-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named".

Polynesian

The "Volcano" pool was a great idea for us, since we go in the summer. We went to MK and took a small bag with the swimsuits, etc. We did MK for a while until it got crowded and the kids got cranky.

A short monorail trip later and we're at the Poly. The kids enjoyed the slide and zero entry, while I enjoyed the view of Seven Seas Lagoon and MK. After they were refreshed, we dried off, changed our clothes and headed to another park. A great break in the day.

I'm thinking of telling all my DVC friends to try out OKW pool on the next trip. I hope they don't ban hopping over to that pool! :smooth:

It's bad enough wearing a costume that's dripping wet while in the pool let alone while traveling Home. :earseek:

We've never pool-hopped and are unlikely to do so in the future. Actually, we've not used our reserved resort pool except when we've had kids with us, and even then it was just the kids.

We've never pool hopped and probably never will, we usually have one designated pool/resort day and we prefer to stay close to home.

We've never hopped, either - and I can't ever see us doing so. I do enjoy having a pool wherever we stay, but we usually just splash around a bit, then lay and read with a cool - and sometimes adult - beverage. On really hot days, we'll do several cycles of this. I just don't see the allure of a different resort; a pool is just a pool.

Years ago we did, we had Villains character dinner booked at the GF and spent the afternoon there at the pool (before they had the other beach one)

Then later I found out on the net that was a no no.

The next time my DD had a Pirate Cruise booked at GF and I thought about going for a swim but then just decided to have a nice breakfast and shop until she returned.
