and if so do you do the scratch offs, hte picks and at what level state or big lotto games?

FIL plays every week. I swear, the last 20 times I've played I've just thrown my $$$ down the drain. No more for me!!

On a side note, DH used to work in a pharmacy that had a loto machine and he had a lot of people come in to claim their $500 prizes - sounds good to me!!!

aren't you and J alone tonight? WTH are you still doing here:rotfl:

the last time i bought a ticket, i let a little older lady with a cane go ahead of me.. she used change to purchase a single ticket....

the next week her pic was in the paper she won 15000 bucks.

I normally do the big games only. I will buy my ticket for about ten weeks of draws on one ticket and mark in my calendar to remind me when the ticket needs to be renewed.

Based on having hit a five of six several years ago I am still ahead on the Florida Lottery.

When I used to live in Virginia there was the ability, for in-state residents only, to mail order a ticket for 13, 26 or 52 weeks. I always used the 52 week. Prizes up to $10 would accumulate until the ticket expired and then be paid by check. Prizes over $10 were paid by check within two weeks, If I ever hit the jackpot they had my telephone number. It was vbery convenient; I would get a reminder about six weeks prior to expiration and just put it with my bills to be paid.,

I wish they had such a system here in Florida.

ya know....if I had a dime everytime I heard that story I'd be a rich woman:rotfl:

If I see some tickets for sale, and get a little "urge" or feel lucky, I will buy two scratch offs and take them home for DSs..so far the most one has won was $2 or a free ticket. I used to play the big game when it went over $100M, but I don't even do that anymore, I forget to watch for the drawing..

Sometimes. Every now and then we will buy some scratchers and when the Mega Millions gets up there we usually buy a few tickets, but we haven't bought any in a while.

The lottery is a tax on the mathematically incompetent.

Mikeeee

Our state has Megamillions, which a few other states share in. If you drive 1 mile to the store, buy your ticket and drive back you have a 6 times greater chance of being killed on the trip than you do of winning.

I played a couple times a long time ago. I never won anything and never got a thrill, so that was that. DH will get tickets when the multi-state jackpot is obscene.

I play the Mega Millions (a multi-state deal) when it hits around $250 million. If I'm going to lose, I want to lose a lot.

But I only spend a dollar. I figure that God helps those who help themselves, so I should buy a ticket. But if He, in His infinite wisdom, decides to help me, He won't need me to do more helping myself than to buy one ticket.

That wasn't very interesting. Sorry.

honestly,, i'll buy three powerball quick picks any time the numbers are over 100 million.

I have a 21 year old son who is in his Junior year all funded by our states Hope scholarship paid for by the Lottery. So, yes I make my $1 donation and buy a ticket for the Big game once a month.:lmao:

Only when the numbers are huge..

Haven't won, yet.
