Do you play an instrument

I played flute from 6th grade through 12th grade and still pull it out once in awhile. I've always wanted to learn how to play piano, and will someday.

I play the clarinet and dabble on the piano. I can also play the guitar line in Rock Band - if it's set on easy. :lmao:

I can't play anything but my seven year old plays the piano and my twelve year old plays the piano, saxaphone, and guitar.

I have played the violin since elementary school. I don't play it much now since I lost most of my hearing though :sad2:

Alright, here comes a long list, please don't be jealous :p

I used to play clarinet, can't remember a thing about it. Last year I took guitar class so I can play that. I am in Band, and in there I am addressed as "Her Majesty Queen Mallet Master." So here's the list of stuff I play in Band:

Xylophone
Bells
Chimes
Marimba
Vibraphone
Snare drum and Drum Set
Auxillary (triangle, wind chimes, cymbals, etc)
Timpani
Bass drum

I'm also a Mezzo-Soprano in the choir. I take voice lessons because my concentration in life is musical theater. :D

Wow! :goodvibes

I never played an instrument but both my kids play guitar.

My DH and his brother also took accordian lessons. They hated it! :rotfl:

WOW that is alot of instruments

I play the guitar and piano regularly. I learned to play the clarinet in middle school, but I stopped playing once I go to high school.

I play the guitar and have been trying to get one of my kids to pick it up. I think I may have hooked the 8 year old!
I can play the piano very basically too.

WOW that is alot of instruments

LOL! The thing is, once you play one type of instrument (like piano) the transition to another (any keyboard instrument, like a xylo) is easier. And then there's the thing where a piece is written for all 5 of those mallet instruments and you're the only one who can do it all...This is why I would love to get a gym credit for Band. xD

My oldest (college) plays the alto sax, guitar, and a little piano.

My middle child (senior) plays the cello and alto sax. She also has taken music theory and composition, and got a great score on her Music SL IB test.

My youngest (5th grade) plays the french horn, trumpet, and sings in the chorus. She also made All City Band first chair since the 3rd grade and made the Districts Honor Choir this year....

Me? I am tone deaf?!?!
Wonder who they get their musical talent from :confused3

My DD12 plays the oboe. She loves it! Although I have to say, she almost quit early on, but she hung in there and now she's not too bad!!

I tried to play the piano a long time ago but it turned out I was a really bad player so I quit. My sisters used to joke that I could clear a room with my singing. I believe them. LOL

My son played the trombone for 3 years and is now learning how to play the guitar.

My youngest sister (not so young anymore now that she's turned 40 yesterday!) played the clarinet for years but always wanted to play the violin. She bought one and couldn't find anyone who could give her lessons. She still has it!

Lets see...

I played piano as a kid. Haven't played in years but still love the sound of a piano. My dd1 played the clarinet thru hs and marching band and now plays every year at the 'alumni' game the school has. dd2 played the violin but was in colorgaurd for marchingband. dd3 plays the flute and still does. ds2 plays violin and is planning on being a music teacher. dsd1/2 both played the clarinet.

Those first few years of playing were hard on the ears...really hard but we enjoy listening later on!

I got my wife a Theremin for Christmas and we're both learning it. It's the only musical instrument that is played without touching it!
