Do you play an instrument

Do you or a family member play or use to play an instrument. I used to play flute along time ago and my DS 13 plays tenor saxophone in his 7th grade band. Anyone else.

I use to play the flute. My sisters played the clarinet and French horn.
None of use continued past 10th grade.

My ds is in 7th grade and plays viola. He loves it.

French horn is my primary though I "can" play all the other low brass and used to also play trumpet in school. I also play guitar.

I used to play piano and still do when I have the time. My DD17 plays piano for her youth group worship group and for the church on occasion. My DD14 sings in the same group and in musicals and such. My DS6 just started drums a few months ago. I am hoping he will also take guitar and piano. He seems to have a natural knack.

I guess you could say music plays a big part in our family!

I used to play a flute, played until college. I still have it but haven't played it in years.

I can (and still do) play the flute, piano, obeo and violin. I started playing everything but the oboe when I was 6. I didn't start playing the oboe till I was 9. My husband can play the piano and violin. I can't wait till my daughter is old enough to play something too.

DH plays a little guitar. DS plays recorder, trombone, saxophone and clarinet. DD plays the recorder, violin and piano. DS and DD are also both in chorus. Me? I sing a little. I used to sing "Amazing Grace" to the kids when I was putting them to bed. DH and I used to laugh when the choir would sing it at Mass and DS would nod off.

I used to play the flute and piccolo, and was in my HS band from 9-12 grade. My DH played the sax for one year in HS, until he got kicked out for "allegedly" spiking the hot chocolate at a football game.:rotfl:

My DS11 (6th grade) plays percussion (snare in marching band, and set at home) and my DS15 plays the trumpet in his HS band.

I wouldn't say I play an instrument. A few years ago I got a Hello Kitty Strat and an amplifier.

I haven't tried playing in a while, I guess I got busy with other things. I keep intending to pick it back up and try to learn more. So far all I have learned to do is some Hole and some Ramones.

I used to play the drums and still play the piano a bit. I am starting to learn guitar from a friend of mine.

12-year-old in the house plays trumpet for the 2nd year. His 20-year old brother taught himself drums and is now learning piano. He plays by ear and is writing some music too. We never would have thought when he was 14 or 15 that he would be where he is now. Never had any interest, except being in a garage band.

Yes. Although I've played trumpet and guitar all my life, I started on bass guitar when I was about 30 and have played that more than anything since and almost exclusively since moving to Florida. I play in 6-8 bands at any given time including a concert band, 2 swing bands, pit orchestras, several 4-6 piece jazz bands and occasionally the American Pops Orchestra. I play on a weekly basis with musicians with pretty impressive credentials. It keeps me off the streets and out of trouble... well, off the streets...

I played violin and piano for a couple years when I was younger. I started playing the clarinet in 5th grade and I still play (I'm a sophomore in college). I can also play the saxophone.

Took piano lessons for 7 or 8 yrs as a kid. I don't own a piano, but my mom does. I will sit and play a few classical pieces that I love and Christmas carols around the holidays, but that's really it.

I play the tuba.
My brother played the tuba. The school kissed his *** for his entire school "career" because they were so thrilled someone picked the tuba. While everyone else was either paying a lot of money to buy or to rent instruments, the school gave him one for at home and one for at school.

My 10 yr old daughter just started playing tenor sax a few months ago.

I noodle around on my guitar. I'm not good, but I don't try to learn to actually play either. I just learn songs, mostly David Gilmour stuff.

I've played the violin since I was 3 years old. I'm 26 now. I love playing and there was a time when I wanted to play in an orchestra as a career, but I got into teaching K instead. But I still play almost every day because I love it so much.

I'm a vocalist (soprano). I have a Bachelors of Music in music history and literature, minor in voice. I also know how to play the Balinese Gamelan and I can somewhat play the bodhran. I wish I could play piano better than I can, and lately I've really been wishing I was at least chord proficient on acoustic guitar.
