Do You Perfer Disneyland in California Or Walt Disney World?

I perfer Disneyland because Disneyland's versions of the rides are better. Plus Disneyland has the Matterhorn & many rides Disney World doesn't have. Disneyland has Alice In Wonderland,Pinichoo Daring Journey,Mr. Toads Wild Ride,Roger Rabits Cartoon Spin, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters,Indiana Jones. Disneyland's versions: Space Mountain,Pirates,Small World,Big Thunder,Splash Mountain,Tiki Birds are better than Disney World's. Over at California Adventure I even think California Screamin is better than Rock N Roller. But the California Adventure Tower Of Terror is not as good as Disney World's. That's the only con I have about the Disneyland Resort. A lot of people like Disney World more but guess what just because it's bigger doesn't make it better. A lot of the rides are the same just spread out into the different parks. Even though Disneyland is smaller it has the better rides. Oh yeah & the Remember Dreams Come True Fireworks was far more superior to Wishes. What do you perfer?

They are both great parks, but I enjoy WDW the most, mainly because the fact that it's a bigger park. Plus having 3 other parks is always a plus. I have only been to Disneyland once, I plan on making it out that direction soon.

I love them both just as much. Every park is special in their own way. I've been to every Disney Park on this planet a few times each. Tokyo is in a class of its own. Disneyland (Anaheim) is home. And Disneyworld is just heaven. Paris is just wonderful cause you're in Disneyland... in Paris. Then Hong Kong is just amazing because again you're in Disneyland but the beautiful thing about HK DL is the surrounding natural landscaping (lush green mountains in the background of the castle!!). I love BOTH. Being a So. Cal native, and a former DL CM, my heart definitely belongs there...but both are wonderful resorts & experiences. They both have so much to explore and enjoy. DL is definitely Walt's park, while WDW is more of a destination. Having enjoyed both for many years, I'm now anxious to try Tokyo, Paris & Hong Kong. There's something great to be seend at all 5 Magic Kingdoms and their respective resorts...

Honestly, even though it's smaller, I prefer Disneyland. There's something about knowing Walt walked up and down that Main Street many, many (ok, probably thousands) times. Disney World's castle is much more impressive and is where I have the memories of being there with my family. But Disneyland is the one that stole my heart.

I too am curious as to people thoughts. I have only been to wdw once last year my sisters and parents have been to disneyland a few time my mom loves it there. I want to take my sister to Disneyworld but don't wan her to be disapointed I have heard that are a few people who didn't enjoy the world but love the land.

Tough question for me.

Been to DLR twice, and I like that this is Walt's own park, the only one he was able to enjoy in his lifetime, for quite a few years. First trip to WDW is coming up for me and I think it will emerge as my favorite. I prefer Cinderella Castle over Sleeping Beauty Castle, I love the AK, plus WDW has many nice hotels.

Native So Cal girl here! I do like both but there's something about Disneyland that is really special. I love the way Space Mountain has the loud music as you ride ( but I think DW does now too) and I love how they decorate Haunted Mansion for Halloween!

Hi i am mickeygirl96's friend and I perfer Walt Disney World better than Disney Land in California. The reason why is because Walt Disney World has alot more rides and shows to attend. And one of my favorite ridesis Splash Mountain, Mt. Everest, and Rock and Rollacaster. One ride Idon't enjoyis the Pirates of the Carrabien boat ride. I believe that Disney World needs to add more things to the boat ride. Thanks & have a magical day!

I think it really depends on which one you consider "home."

Disneyland actually has more rides than WDW, and the quality of the stage production (not the performers, mind you) is far superior. It is in SoCal, after all. The themeing and unity of the DL park far out shines WDW"S MK. The haunted mansion being the obvious example. The rides mentioned by the OP (except Buzz which WDW's MK does have) are something I dearly miss when in WDW.

WDW is much less expensive for us, but since we are former SoCal residents we do a lot off property when we go there. I do think a WDW package would be less than a DL one for the same number of days, but I am not sure it is fair to compare that.

The rides both have are often better in DL. Pirates, Splash, IASW, Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion.

The Grand Californian is wonderful, and the proximity to the parks is fantastic. Yes, better than the Contemp, even.

I love Epcot and AK. I love the feeling of being on property at WDW. The water parks rock.

Really I love both. DL will always be home, but WDW is also dear to me. I wouldn't pass up a chance to go to any Disney park.

Having been a veteran of both resorts, my take on it is if you want to experience the "true Walt Disney vision", Disneyland Park fits that to a "T".

Though MK is intended to be something of a clone of DLP, there are many instances where, IMO, it falls short -- namely, the upcoming dismantling of "Mickey's Toontown Fair" in favor of more "Princess" attractions (As Toontown is a larger, major themed area at DLP, chances are Mickey's west coast house won't be disappearing, anytime soon).

I prefer Disneyland, you have more rides in one location,thus making it a better buy money wise. It was my first park, Ive been to DL, Disney World and Disney Tokyo. I was let down by Disney World, I expected it to be better then Disneyland and it was missing a lot of what I love

I think HaleyB hit the nail on the head. Sure some rides in DL are better than World, but the reverse is also true. How do you compare the Lion King show with Alladdin? They are both fantastic. It all comes down to where you personally feel the magic. My first Disney trip was in 1972 to DL and that will always be special and every time I step on the property there, even if it's only the parking lot, I start to get goose bumps. We have since been to both parks as often as we can afford. To us, Disneyland is "home", but Disney World is also our second "home". It's not who has the best rides, but which park gives you the bigger goose bumps and for everyone who loves Disney, that's going to be personal.

I suspect it is a tough call. As a child I went to WDW the year after it opened and then in 1976. But I don't have much critical memories to compare. I was just a kid in heaven.

Since then I have become a DL vet and LOVE the parks there. I do recall thinking the castle was small the first time I visited in 1979.

I am heading back to WDW for the first time in 30+ years. I am really looking forward to enjoying the differences.

My first Disney experience was in DL when I was child. Now that I live in SoCal I have APs to DL.

It's "home" to me. It's my fav because I can go there just about anytime I want. DD and I are headed there tonight to see the new Halloween fireworks.

But... we also love WDW. That is where we take our vacations! DL to us is two days maybe tops. WDW on the other hand has much more to offer in a 7 to 10 vacation. Plus we love Epcot and AK.

In a straight DL vs MK competition we would choose DL. But Mk has one thing that DL desperately needs - wider walk ways, lol. DL often "feels" crowded when it is not.

We are planning an Adventures by Disney vacation for a few years from now - at the end we will add on a few days in Paris so we can do DL Paris.
