Right now disney can give you the same amount of points you buy from 2006 ...so does that mean if I get 160 points and disney gives me 160 more points... I have to pay fees on the free 160 points they give me too?

You pay MF on the amount of annual points you purchase. If your total annual points purchased are 160 then you will pay MF on that number of points. The incentive does not have anything to do with MF.

The MF cost per point depends on which resort you are purchasing. I don't know the exact $ dollar amount per point for each resort but, I know I have seen it on the boards several times. Maybe someone else has the figures handy!!

Edit:
I just saw someting on another thread which sounded like you might have to pay the MF for the year of 2006 on the 160 point incentive. I am not sure if this is a fact. We got the incentive as well and I don't recall ever paying MF on those extra points. Although, when we bought SSR it was not open yet so we got points we couldn't use until the resort was open. Maybe some one else could answer your question better!

And yes, our guide told us that we would pay a "pro-rated" MF on our 160 2006 points. Our UY will be Dec '06 & we havent settled yet-just got the papers back to them today, but she said we will get a bill for the MF from May til 12/07. Hope that makes sense! Deb

ok so what about this...

let's say I have 160 points I get annually.... but one year I carry over and will be getting 200... does that mean I would pay on the 200 or is it always the same each month regardless of carryover, etc

My understanding is (and remember I am going through the purchase now!) is that you pay MF on your 160 points each year & that's it. If you have a Dec UY, they would be due by Jan (if you pay anually), it doesn't matter if you bank or not--you are paying MF on the points you own each year. does that help? Deb

Deb is right! If you bank your points there is no charge. You will only pay MF each year on the total number of points you purchased. I think MF fees for SSR is approx. $4.12 per point. So, every year you would pay 160 x $4.12= $659.20. You also have the option to pay monthly. We do that and it is great!! It's nice not to get a big bill like that in Jan. after the holidays. Hope this helps.

That's correct. You only pay on the size of your contract. Banking and borrowing has nothing to do with maintenance fees.

I just bought 160 pts SSR from disney ($94/pt non-member).... YESTERDAY. Dec UY. The 2006 points are free and bankable. IF you bought today, then your dues are for 2007 Prorated (approx 7 months dues for 2007). Get 160 pts bankable and another 160 in December 2007. Total Dues paid this year ~$385 or $54 monthly. Oh yeah, closing is only $235.

The bonus 06 pts are only for SSR and not AKV.

Hope this helps. I should be in the system today!
