I was looking at some resorts located on W Irlo Bronson Hwy and put the addresses on mapquest to see how far they were from the world, and it said there was a portions toll. I'm not even sure what that is. Do you pay it both ways and how much is it? Or, is there a way to avoid this toll? Thanks in advance for your help :)

Irlo Bronson Highway is not a toll road. However, some roads people use to access it are toll roads. You can go to all the theme parks from Irlo Bronson without driving on any toll roads. Where will you be staying?

We are hoping to stay at the Lighthouse Key Resort. We're trying to decide between this one and the Runaway Beach Hotel.

Lighthouse Key is close to Sherberth road. Approx 10 min tops to AK

Definitely no tolls REQUIRED from there. You can access Disney via Sherberth Road, as the previous poster mentioned. It will bring you into Disney at the entrance to AKL. If you turn right, you'll be on the non-toll portion of the Osceola Parkway. You can go from AKL to I-4 via the Osceola Parkway as well (if Hwy 192 is really busy) and from I-4, you can get to just about any place other than Disney (Universal, SW, shopping, etc.).

The toll roads in the area, in case you want to avoid them:

Florida Turnpike
SR429 (western beltway)
SR417 (eastern beltway)
SR528 (Beachline Expressway)
Osceola Parkway (between Saralago Blvd. and John Young Parkway only)
SR408 (East-West Expressway - near downtown Orlando)

But if you have a few coins, the toll roads can be a good way to avoid some (but not all) of the traffic, depending on where you're headed.
