do you or would you wear jewlery to the parks

I wear my wedding ring and my diamond stud earrings that I always wear every day in my 2nd ear piercing. I wear disney earrings in my 1st piercing when I'm at WDW.

I used to wear cute necklaces and bracelets but they'd get all gunked up from sunscreen and I had to clean them every day so now I just don't wear them in the parks anymore.

I will wear a cute necklace or bracelet for DTD or if I was having a nice dinner.

I won't be wearing my wedding rings, but not because I'm afraid of losing them, but because my fingers swell up when it gets hot and my rings become uncomfortable. I'd rather know they're safe in the room safe (hah!) than shoved into a bag halfway through the day because my finger hurts.

My diamond earrings haven't come out of my ears since Christmas, but those I'll be leaving off because I'm worried about losing them. (I will put my rings/earrings back on for our fancier dinners where we're going back to the resort to shower and change beforehand, however.)

I wear watches that cost in excess of $10,000 and have never even come close to having a problem, same with my wife.

Geez. I can't bring myself to spend that much on a car. :littleangel:

Of course, you would probably think I'm a moron if you saw how much money I've spent on my home theater audio system.:3dglasses

I could just as easily lose a piece of jewlery at home, so I will be waring my jewelry there also. Always have, always will! If it's going to happen it won't matter where you are.

I totally agree. The only thing that I am mindful of when choosing my jewelery for my trip is the size of the item. Being tossed around on Rock 'n' Roller Coaster in DS with large danglely earrings would be miserable.

:thumbsup2

i have diamond studs and small white gold hoops that i wear in my ears. i do wear my wedding ring set. i will probably just wear a band this year though. i've lost weight and my rings are a bit loose. plus, we're planning to spend our afternoons at the pool. i would hate to lose my rings.

i always wear my watch. and i usually take one or two disney necklaces to wear as well.

True, but if I lose it at home, I'm going to be around for a while to look for it, and have a better idea of where it is. Plus, as another poster pointed out, at home I'm not going on roller coasters, etc.

I had an emerald pop out of a ring and get lost at a local themepark on one of the coasters , which is why I don't wear my engagement ring to disney..or anything else I would mind losing

The last time we went, I wore my wedding ring, a small necklace my husband gave me that I don't ever take off, and some hypoallergenic studs that I could afford to lose.

I wear my jewelry. Wedding rings, Great-Grandma's high school ring from 1922, bracelets, watch, necklace. The only thing I remove at night is the necklace and watch for sleep. It's all everyday jewelry for me, so I feel naked without it!

That is what I dont get about this thread. Earings I get, then can fall out, but they will fall out in the grocery store parking lot as well and you will never find them then. Basic metal principals say that only force and wear can damage jewelry (and chemicals). The poster who lost the stone on the ride, the metal was wearing and you would have lost the stone in a few days anyway just walking to the car or something. Now granted, a person may have more ability to bump/damage jewelry when on a ride, but it is still slim. I wear three rings (wedding, engagement and a pretty right hand) and a bracelet 24/7 including on roller-coasters and water parks (oh and a cheap ropelike anklet that I buy at the beach every summer that "gives you a wish" when it falls off). I do not wear necklaces because the clasp might break (with me fiddling with it and sunscreen (chemicals reeking havoc on the metal and weakening it) and I wear a lanyard and the two might get annoying and I dont wear earrings because I had a painful experience on a rollercoaster with studs when I was a teen (the back punctured my neck when I hit the side of the overhead restraint-lots of blood), so i swore off earrings and rides together back then.

I wear my diamond studs and my wedding ring everywhere...and I usually have a second ring, necklace, pair of earrings and sometimes a bracelet on. Never had any issue. I feel naked without my jewelry (and they aren't any giant, gaudy, overly expensive things). I do check and make sure they are still there periodically, but never had a problem or lost anything (knock on wood). Do what feels best to you. :thumbsup2

I don't usually wear much jewelry. Last trip I didn't even bring my wedding rings. I take them off at night and am paranoid about leaving them behind in the hotel in the morning. I bought myself a Mickey sterling & diamonique ring on QVC and wore it with a plain silver band. I do wear my Mickey watch, earrings and necklace--they aren't "cheap", but not of the same value as my wedding set.
