Do you need to check in at hotel before MB work?

Just want to head straight to a park but I'm not sure they'll work. I've already done online check-in.

I thought I read that you didn't have to go to the hotel first? Is that true?

I've done the on-line check-in too but I'm not taking any chances. I'm going to physically check-in when I get there.

From what I read, even if you did online check-in, you still have to go to the resort to physically check in so that they can activate your magic bands, except if you're an AP.

The magic bands work at the Magical Express check in at airport before you have been to resort. Not sure about parks though.

In March we went directly to the park before checking in with no problem. And this was an EMH morning. You will not be able to charge to your room nor use dining credits, though, until you check in.

I called and they said to check in first. You can check in at 7 so I plan on being there right at 7
