Do you measure your kids by DL rides???

We were just at train town in Sonoma CA, and they have these little plane rides that go in a circle and up and down, ( like dumbo) My son was over 35 inches at DL a month ago. On this ride he needed to be 36 inches. He was way off and they would not let him ride. ( No biggie, saftey first) but I think the measuring area was off. He LOVED the matterhorn last trip, so I think he could handle going in a circle. I just thought it was funny! I am sure it is a safety issue.

We have a really big roll of butcher paper that I made a height chart out of. I cut the height marker part that we mark up, about 8" wide and about 55" tall. Then at the top was the outline of the mickey head used on the disney channel. We put it up on the wall and then with a tape measure marked all of the different height requirements. Next to each new line was a paper arrow with the rides that could be ridden on at that height.

It was a great way for our girls to keep track of how tall they were and they could constantly check themselves without our help. It sure makes dinners that much easier when you say "Go see if you're tall enough to ride tower of terror" they measure and then you say "Oh No!!! You need to finish eating your dinner so you will be tall enough to ride it next time we go!"

If my girls didn't trash it after having it for a year, I would take a picture...but it's gone. Just imagine Mickey's head on a post and that is what I made.
