I seem to get a new boss (not a new job) every few years. We have had some real "winners" in the past.

The one I have now is not so much doing a bad job. She is really pretty good at it. There is just something about her I don't trust. She seems to be all sugar coated sometimes - and then she can say or do something that blows me out of the water - and not in a good way.

Sometimes I feel like she doesn't need me to like her - she likes herself more than enough for everyone. :rolleyes1

The boss I have had since 1994 is my DH and he is the best one I have ever had. We both work for a civil engineering/land surveying firm of which he is one of the principal owners. We are literally together 24/7 and we wouldn't want it any other way. May I add we just celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary.

That is awesome. :)

Depends on the day and his mood. He's an alcoholic and we're pretty sure he has dementia of some sort now.

I don't just like my boss.......I love him! Of course, he is my Dad.....;)

My boss works in the field. I see him a total of about four hours a year. he's very hands off, there are times that I don't even hear from him all week other than e-mails. He seldom "tells" me what to do, just lets me do my job and as long as it gets done, he doesn't care. He's also really open to ideas and suggestions.

I have soooo many bosses, but they are all good to work with.

I like mine I guess. He flips flops often on decisions when dealing with higher ups or the mills. That is frustrating when we are working with one set of expectations and he has told them something else. He also came into our field with no prior experience in the field. So I have basically taught him about Transporation. The first 6 months there were some days I would go home and dare someone to ask me a question since I had been answering simple questions all freakin day. :sad2: But in general he is OK now.

I really like my boss that I have now.

The job I had before this one only lasted 6 months because I just could not stand either of my bosses. I didn;t see the point in staying at a job that made me misserable(SP?) no matter how much money I was making.

I don't make as much money now but I'm much happier and don't dread going to work.

Yes, I do. Couldn't work for someone I didn't liked.

I have just not had a good experience with this new boss. I had an incident occur last year where I felt she was telling me whatever she thought she needed to in order to keep me there - because she knew I was ready to walk out the door. This was not a situation that she had control of right away and in the end did not handle it very well either.

I was asked to create and maintain a website for my job - was told I would be paid for it. Willingly I took this on. I spent money on programs so I could do what was asked of me - we arranged meetings so we could get the information she wanted up onto the site. She never showed up for these meetings or totally ignored me during them - went off to "visit" with others. These meetings were scheduled this past summer when I was off of work ( I am a teacher) so I came in on my own time. I have yet to get anything from her and have not seen a single dime for the work I have done.

She has two sets of rules - one for the general public and one for those that intimidate her.

She has been heard saying some very unkind and totally inapproperiate comments about a child.

I have asked her several times about a situation that could affect my job (and my decision to come back) for the next school year. I get two different answers from her that totally contradict each other.

From the first time I saw here about a year and a half ago I just had this feeling.. and it has proven itself right.

But she will continue to be in charge of the school for as long as she chooses because she is very good making things appear to be wonderful. She knows how to play people - and if they don't realize she does this they will fall for it - and have. Politically - she is also very savvy.

I have been with this school long enough to truly care about it. I have put my heart and soul into it and helped it become what it is today. I have been there 11 years and have outlasted 5 directors. BUT - I also know that if I say anything to anyone about her - I will come out of it looking bad. So for now I have to either stay in my classroom and avoid her as much as possible - and let things slide right off me - or decide if I have simply had enough and leave.

My DH of 10 years is my boss too! So many people tell me that they couldn't work with their spouse, but it works great for us! Congrats on 28 years! :cheer2:

I technically have three supervisors I report to. Yes I like them all! I dont know how I could stay at a job if I didn't like my boss.

Hearingaidmom, thanks so much! Its great and just last week, DH was very stressed out about something and we were able to discuss it which helped him. We also have friends that cannot figure out how it works for us. It just does!

I used to really, really like and respect my boss but he got promoted and I got moved under a new person. She's an OK human being, but I can't stand her management style and she rubs me the wrong way.

He's pretty young and green behind the ears for the job of principal of 600 middle school kids but I like him. He's learning.:)

I absolutely LOVE my boss. He appreciates me and lets us all know we're doing a good job and listens when we have ideas. He gives me free reign of our office because he knows I know what I'm doing. :yay:

NO.

Am working to change the bosses soon!
