I’m typing this as my daughters and I are doing facial masks for skin care. It made me wonder how many of DIS friends also like to do them and what kind or brand is your favorit? We have so many different ones at our house. I’m using the Aztec Clay one you can get on Amazon you mix with Apple cider vinegar (it’s my favorite one), my older daughter is using a charcoal one and my youngest is using a sheet mask one that’s more hydration based than cleansing. We really like the one you put on your face and it foams up while wearing that’s a really fun and makes you look silly.

What are your favorite skin care products and routines?

I thought this was a thread on face masks for air-borne viruses, etc. I was going to say that I would prefer not having to wear them when I do, but do wear them when it is prudent to do so. And yes, after trying many brands and styles over the past 4 years, I do have a favorite brand that I found about a year ago.

I refined the title so it won’t be so confusing :thumbsup2

Feel free to share your favorite brand of mask for protection too 😊

I tend to buy whatever is on sale...right now, I'm trying Peter Thomas Roth's sample pack of 4 different masks, charcoal, cucumber, pumpkin enzyme, gold.

I have rosacea & pretty sensitive skin in general. I only use Aveeno calm & restore products which don’t irritate my skin. I last used a mask maybe 8 years ago & it was a moisturizing sheet type, don’t remember the brand. If anyone has a recommendation for a moisturizing mask for sensitive skin, I’d be interested in trying one again.

We still keep KN95 masks on hand & definitely wear them on planes & in crowded lines at WDW. They weren’t as easy to find when I needed to restock last year, so did my best to research brands. The ones I got are OK, but the ear loops are a little tight. I’d like to know what brand you use & what you like about them if you don’t mind sharing.

I too have sensitive skin and love the DHC product line, it’s made in Japan and uses olive oil as the base of a lot of its products. With every order too you can get a few free samples which are the perfect size tossing in your toiletry bag for travel.

For 'everyday' masks I like these, Halyard brand. They are soft, comfortable. I especially like the nose piece, a metal strip. Unlike other masks where the nose insert (generally plastic) does not fit snuggly and comfortably around the nose bridge, these fit great since you can shape it and it stays put. If you wear glasses, no fogging. All around, a great everyday mask. I just ordered 4 more boxes. Advocate Health, a very large hospital group here in Chicago, just went to mask mandate again while in the hospitals. They use this mask as their mask that staff wear as well as what they pass out for those who come without one.

For N(%'s, I use these, RespoKare, Again, very comfortable, great nose piece, soft fabric. And they make a large which fits great for me. I rarely use an N95, but have a number of boxes if needed.

I don't really use masks, but utilize peels. I've used glycolic acid before, but have switched to Paula's Choice exfoliant. Plus a good face and eye cream.
Do the peels help with age spots? I’m starting to get a few on my cheeks, luckily they look a bit like freckles.

I haven’t really done masks in forever. Back in the day I like the blue peel Noxema and there was another one that kind of changed the shade of blue when it was all dry.

Back in the day, I used to pamper myself, I truly need to start skiing more for myself

It’s never too late to start a new routine of self care.

I haven’t thought of Noxema in years, that was so popular when I was a teen.

Remember the biore strips you would put on your nose and pull off? Those were torture 🤣

I love facial mask! I use different types and brands, from sheet mask to exfoliating mask and leave-in overnight mask, I love them all! This might be a surprise to most people, but I buy my sheet mask from Daiso! They have one specific brand that I have been using for a few years now and they are very hydrating. I look for hyaluronic acid on the ingredient list, and theirs is high up on the list. I also like that they don't have a gazillion ingredients so keeping things simple. It's $1.75 for one and that's cheap! I'll post a pic later today what the packaging looks like.

I also use a couple of different masks from Kiehl's, and the black tea firming overnight mask from Fresh.

I have never heard of Daiso, I just looked it up and the closest one to FL is in TX 🤪 but maybe we can find the one you like somewhere else.

I didn't want to hijack the subject of your thread but since you're okay with it, I'll share my favorite too!

A friend of ours who is a nurse recommended this to us, and it is now our favorite mask for travel. As the description states, it is lightweight and very breathable. My hubs and I only wear this type on travel day going through airports and in-flight.

Aww booo....🙁 That store is amazing and addicting! They aren't the highest quality but most products will get the job done! A lot of our household items are from there, especially all our baskets for organization, they are everywhere at our house! 😂 A similar basket you buy at Target is probably at least $4.99, but you can get it for about $2-3 at Daiso. So imagine you have all these baskets around your house...that's a lot of money saving! All our laundry bags are also from there, and even better, in the recent years they added a lot of Disney products so now all my laundry bags are either Winnie the Pooh, Mickey or Minnie! 😆

I have extremely sensitive skin and I make a mask out of oats. It's so calming for stressed out skin. I grind oats in my coffee grinder until they are a powder. Then mix with water to form a loose paste and slather it on. When it hardens in about 20 minutes rinse it off.

Some people like to use plain yogurt instead of the water when their skin is very inflamed. I've tried it and it works. If you don't have a grinder you can buy the Aveeno oat packets that are for the bathtub. They are just 100% ground oats.
