We think the one at POFQ looks really cool and more fun-themed than the POR one. But I would like to hear your feedback about which you like better and why?:beach:

We liked them both. The POFQ slide is good for younger children. The POR slide is more fun for older chIldren.

This was pretty much my response in a nut shell. The bit about the slides is spot on! Having stayed at both resorts we did like both pools. But overall, we just liked Ol Man Island best for some reason. Nothing I could really put my finger on other than DD said she liked it best. Hope this helps!:goodvibes

We prefer POR. The POFQ is more geared towards smaller kids and is smaller than the POR pool. Plus, POR has 4 quiet pools as well which was good for us. The POR main pool does get busy.

My family preferred the pool at POFQ (kids and adults included) which surprised me. The slide was great and there were spots were we could swim and feel secluded. Also loved the hidden chairs behind bushes near the back of pool. We were disappointed with POR's main pool: nothing spectacular as far as theme and was packed and crowded and felt exposed. However we liked the quiet pool in Magnolia Terrace. It was quiet and very lovely setting.

I like both, but I like Old Man Island better. For me, there's more shade and I like the pool bar deck.

Please define "younger children"...we are staying at POFQ And our extended family group includes three girls ages 8,7 and 4.

I like the pool at POFQ much more than at POR. Even though the slide at POR is better, the pool was much more crowded than I've experienced at POFQ and I don't like the layout of the chairs and tables at POR. I did enjoy the quiet pool (between Oak and Parterre) at POR, though, and wish POFQ had a couple of them, or at least one.

They are sister resorts, so if the pool is a huge factor you are permitted to swim at both pools if you stay at POFQ or POR.

POR, has a little more theming, more vegetation seems more quaint, and the slide is better. We spent a few hours at POFQ pool also, it just seemed wide open, not as much shade, but the serpent slide was fun and the kids had a great time. POFQ was quiter too, better suited for the younger kids, POR would be more fun for bigger kids.

When I say younger kids, I am thinking toddler, probably about 3 and under, we had 6 y.o. and 4 1/2 y.o. and they were both ok on POR slide.

Your 8 and 7 year olds will be bored with the slide at POFQ fairly quickly. It is very very very short.

Another vote for POR; although both are good and remember you can use either pool as they are sister resorts...added bonus IMO!

My kids were 8 and 5 on their last visit. Both are good swimmers.
My 8 year old preferred the POR slide, while my 5 year old daughter said she preferred the dragon slide at POFQ. I noticed lots of 3 and 4 year olds on the dragon slide.

As an adult I like POR pool area and slide much better than POFQ :) Bar area is nice and shady!

I agree with POR for older kids, POFQ for younger kids (under 5).
