Do you like the neighbouring towns/areas to your home place?

There are several small villages and communities all around where I live. The nearest towns are all small towns and the nearest larger town is about 30 miles away. I like it very much.

Depends on which direction. I can get in my car and (while staying off the freeway) be within 15 minutes (and less than 5 miles) of very nice areas as well as economically depressed places. So I'd say it's a mixed bag.

Some of them are ok. I grew up in the next town over, about 5 minutes away, but I would never want to live there now. We live in what I would say is the nicest town (actually village) around here. Small, very little crime, best schools.

My county is very poulated and very diverse. Some very rich and some very poor. There are places I will not go in my county.

Same, 10 minute drive in one direction, mansions (not McMansions). 10 minutes in another direction leads me to housing projects.

I live in a city of 850,000 people. We don't have really any neighbouring towns. I guess a few bedroom communities that aren't in the city limits and then of course little prairie farming towns.
I have nothing against any town.

I moved back to the small midwestern town I grew up in about 20 years ago with a newborn. I had lived in a large metro area in our state, and we renovated a historical home 2 blocks from my mom.

I love the pace of a small town and the lessons to be learned here. We are 15 minutes away from the Lake Erie shore, so there is much to see and enjoy - I love nature and beauty, and there is so much of that here. So yes, I love the neighboring areas. Lots of revitalization going on too, which is such a joy to see.

The nearest town is 110 miles away. It's a very big city with lots of good shopping. Nice to visit once in a while but I would not want to live there.

To the west about 15 miles is a big city, we live east, at the very fringe of civilization - lol. We have shops grocery about 4 miles away
