No one ever sems to talk about Coral Reef, but the atmosphere seems cool. What do you think?

IMO.... the atmosphere is Just OK. The one time we went we were seated a few teirs up, so we didnt have a great view. I also felt the portions were too small and the bill was way too large!!
I have read reviews from other people who have loved it. Me, I would rather do a buffet meal which would probably be the same price per person.

My in-laws want to do the Coral Reef each time we visit WDW, and it drives me crazy because you are essentially paying a cover charge to stare at the fish for an hour. The food is over-priced and there is not enough of a selection. You can definitely do better elsewhere.

When we visited four years ago in October, we visited Coral Reef, and loved it! Yes, it's not cheap. But the atmosphere is coool....

My tip: Make a PS for 11:30 when it first opens for lunch. Get there 5 to 10 minutes early so you're near the front of the line, and request a seat by the tank so you have a great view of the sea life! That's what we did, and it worked. Kids and adults loved it. I want to go back this year, but we're doing a lot of other priority seatings for character meals, and I don't want to over schedule ourselves.

WE first visited Coral Reef 2 years ago and loved it! This year, when it came time to set up the PS itinerary, the girls saw that I chose LeCellier as our Epcot meal...and rebeled heavily(w/DH) until I switched it to Coral Reef! Sure it is expensive, but the food is good and I switched the meal to lunch(cheaper)! All 3 DDs love watching the fish and the divers while we eat!!

I'd say the whole experience is just okay. Sort of l been there, done that, never have to do it again.

We ate at the Coral Reef on our last trip (2 adults/2 kids[9,6,3]) to celebrate all our birthdays. We picked the Coral Reef from what we read about the food and atmosphere, and we figured the place would be a little more upscale (and more importantly the fish tank would keep the kids busy throughout our dinner).

I would recommend it. We sat in one of the curved booths on the floor facing the tank, and throughly enjoyed our meal. The portions though not huge, were filling, and very delicious. The selections were good (of course most were seafood, steak and pasta), and the service was exceptional. We even mentioned that we were celebrating our birthdays to the host, and the server brought over a special desert with happy birthday and our names written in hot fudge. The huge fish tank filled with all sort of sea-life kept our kids attention throughout our meal, and allowed for us to eat and still keep our sanity.

Overall it gets a thumbs up!

we do the coral reef each trip. this will be my 5th time. we love the relaxing atmosphere and although its pricey we're on vacation, so we splurge a little. weve always been close to the tank and have never had a bad meal. i really liked the seafood chowder and of course......the chocolate wave. even my sister who isnt a big chocolate fan loved it. i definately reccomend the coral reef.

LOVE the Coral Reef!

Lobster Bisque - yummy! DH and I each get that and share an entree. I love the atmosphere, I just think it's so relaxing.

We have eaten at, and enjoyed the Coral Reef. I do agree that the prices are higher at dinner than some of the other restaurants, but the memories we have from eating there are priceless.

We had very good seats - first booth level - and our boys loved watching the fish and divers. The service was good (not spectacular, but more than adequate), the food we had was very well prepared and overall, it was a place we would return to.

I did feel that it was a relaxing meal, sort of an out-of the way place, most likely considering the variety that is available at WS not as many people were there?

We just one for the first time last month. Won't go back again. We sat a few rows back so we weren't right in front of the tank - don't think it would matter since not many fish went by. I got the fish sandwich (lunch) and didn't like it at all. DH got the salmon and he liked it. Kids (5 & 9 ) were not very impressed. High prices for small quantity of food. Glad we went tho since now we can say we did it.

Try it at least once...you might like it! :)

High prices....Small portions. Run of the mill quality.

We went there for our first meal on our honeymoon (not planned, we had just arrived and were starving). All our meals were paid for in our package, so price didn't matter.

The food was excellent- I think I had a shrimp and rissoto dish, and my husband likely had something like swordfish.

Honestly, I found the atmosphere to be a bit dated compared to other nice restaurants. Sort of 80's chic... with fish. It was also a bit strange eating fish...in front of fish. I don't know if I could do it again post-"Finding Nemo."

Love the coral reef. I know it gets its share of bad reviews but we had a wonderful meal.. and great atmosphere.

LOVE IT!!!

It is a MUST DO for our family of 5 every trip!!!!

We were just there on June 27 and had the best waiter ever-- Kevin!! My kids asked every night after that for the rest of the trip to go back to see Kevin!!!
