Do you let your kids out to play if they stay home from school sick?

We have the same rule here. It really helps on mornings when someone doesn't feel well and I explain that I guess they're not going to get to go to dance or a movie or whatever was planned. Suddenly, that kid doesn't feel so sick anymore.:p

We have a rule in our house, if you're too sick to go to school, you're too sick to go out and play.

We have the same rule. ::yes::

That's my rule now. Amazing how those tummy aches clear up at the thought of no TV all day long. Mind you, I have a very dramatic daughter who actually enjoys visits to the doctor:rolleyes: so we have at least one morning a week that she is too sick for school (in her mind anyway).

I think it depends on your child and if you think that they are really sick or not. I mean, if you are like me and sometimes cave in to a fake "I don't feel good" because you think maybe they need a day at home to be with mom or to just take time to do nothing for a day, then I think it is okay for them to go out to a store or eat out or go on errands with you. (I'm talking here about little ones, like 2nd grade and younger, I don't cave in to my older daughter).

But , even under those circumstances they are not allowed to play with other kids, other than siblings.

Now, when kids are home truly SICK, they usually do not feel like playing at all. I do let them go outside for fresh air (always a good idea) but of course they can not play with other kids.

I was like the rest of you, when I was home sick I had to stay in bed all day, no TV, nothing. How did I become such a pushover?

Hey, I was tagged! Thanks TF!!! Very cool!
