Please research some of the studies about kids brains and exposure to violence. You may change your mind - or at least be a little more aware.
Post some links. I will read anything. But some study saying watching violence can make kids violent won't change my mind because I don't believe it does.
The tendency to be violent is in us all. How else do you explain a 2 yr old child that has never seen a violent movie or ever been hit by another person in their life but they will take a stick and beat another kid in the head and think it is funny. Or throw a rock at another kid. There is a whole laundry list of violent things I have seen little kids do who have never been exposed to it. Kids that have never been taught to hit but when in a confrontation with another kid will immediately start hitting or biting. Show me a study that explains that.
Everyone I know in my life has been allowed to grow up watching violent movies and nobody has ever committed an act of violence against another person. You either have it in you or you don't.
And music doesn't cause kids to murder or commit suicide (which is a whole other thread in itself) if a child is going to murder then they had it in them already and if a child commits suicide it is because they are severely depressed. You have to be pretty depressed to kill yourself and I don't think a song or a movie is going to affect that decision. But like I said that is not even what this thread is about but it is just another example of ppl looking for something or someone to blame when their kid turns out to be bad.
