Pins - I ordered some from the Disney Store web-site - Stitch and could get names placed on them.

Do you allow your children to wear pins with their names on them in the Parks ?

I would like to give the Stitch pins to my children at WDW as a surprise gift.

Thanks :boat:

We do. We have them wear them everyday. I know that it can be a security "issue", but we never let them out of our site - they are 7 and 3. The pins can REALLY add to the magic for kids AND adults, though. The cast members notice them and call us all by our name, and we all think it's great. We've had Cast Members in parades yell across the street "HI Jennie and Ron!" to us - from at least 15 feet away they could read those tags. We get some funny looks, but it's fun.

yes. Only because you could spend 5 minutes standing in our vicinity and know her name anyway! It isn't a secret.

Yes we do, as well as personalized shirts/sweatshirts. :) My boys get a kick out of the CM's knowing their names. As far as security, I agree with In a hurry...you could easily figure out my kids names if you just stand near us for a couple minutes! :hyper2:

We do too - I have never thought it was a security issue, 2 minutes stood near our family would tell you both their names.

I let my son wear his. Aside from all the CM's calling him by name ( which he thought was great ), alot of the characters personailzed his autograph book by using his name. He thought some of them were AMAZING because they knew his name!!! I guess he forgot it was on his pin :confused3 !!! Oh well, just adds to the magic that way!

Absolutely - and they picked out the pins (we are pin collectors, so they chose one of "their" characters). We all wear them.

I dont have a response to this but its related--

I would explain to children why not wearing a personalized shirt in other places is a good idea--

When I was in WDW about ten years ago with my mom she bought me one of the air-blown shirts in downtown dinsey where you can put a Charicter and some words (I put Jasmine) and when asked what I wanted it to say I said
"Princess ***" and I got really mad when she said I could only wear it at home not out in public any where. In my little head it was like saying your buying me this cool shirt but I cant wear it. I didnt get the Danger of my Name being on the shirt in the general public.

So my point is if as a parent you are not going to let the child wear their souvenier make sure they understand you not being a big meanie and just trying to keep them safe.(I know it sounds harsh but just my perspective from when i was little)

Yep mine too. Matter of fact we were at the mall one day and I had been talking to my DD and than a lady said "Well Ashli, you sure are a pretty girl". DD looked at me and was like how did she know my name. And I said I guess because I have to speak to you so much about not touching things. :rotfl2:

I wouldn't personally.

They may know her name by proximity--but the snowball's chance that someone *could* use it to be nice to her when they don't want to be gives me the heebie jeebies.

And for some reason I just don't like personalized stuff in general.
