Do you know how to surf and if not, would you want to learn if you ever got the opportunity? πŸ„β€β™‚οΈ πŸ„β€β™€οΈ 🌊

I don't know how and have never tried, but I'd be game to learn. I'm not going to go out of my way and schedule some expensive lessons while I'm on vacation though, just if it was ever presented really easily with very little effort or cost on my part to get the lessons.

We learned to surf when we went to Hawaii. They give you a pretty big board. All of us got up several times. The waves were tiny. The biggest mistake I made was riding all the way in, panicking and stepping off the board onto the sand. I'm sure it was comical to see. Our instructor said just sit down on your knees, that was so much better.

On my honeymoon I took a surf lesson in Hawaii. It was not a day that a beginner should have been out on the waves. I did what I was supposed to do (dove under the wave and pushed the board away). The board came back and hit me on the ribs. I told the instructor I needed to sit out. So just hung out on the water in the safe zone until my husband was done. Got out and took of my rash guard and had quiet a bruise. I was fine though. I did love the fact that for years I could say I had a scar from my 'surfing accident'. :) But no I will not surf again.

The waves at Typhoon Lagoon looked worse than the ones I had in Hawaii. The second little wave was more like it. Plus that area is small so I think the waves dispersed a little more in the bay we were in. We were in Kauai at Hanalei Bay.

We were going to do this at TL many years ago but it was cancelled. If I hadn't already done it, I would do this at TL.

Grew up boogie boarding and surfing with my dad and brother. Haven’t been in 20 years, as we no longer live near the ocean. I wasn’t great at surfing but enjoyed it.

At one time I would have loved to learn how to surf, but my knees won’t allow it now. Once I finally get around to replacing them (which is what I’m supposed to being doing now, but I just can’t do it yet), who knows how old I’ll be. Definitely going to my grave not knowing how to surf - LOL!

No, I don't know how to surf. It's not on my bucket list or anything, but if a friend invited me along to a lesson, I might give it a go.
