Do you insert your room key into a gate station to get into the HHI beach house?

Just wondering. If anyone has a picture of this, it would be great. I remember last year when we stayed at Palmetto Dunes, I think there was some sort of gate to get into the beach house.

Also, is the beach house protected by room key going to/from the beach? Thanks.

The answer to both your questions is "yes". You need a room key to get into the pool area from the parking lot. Once you're on the pool deck, you can get into Surfmen's Station (the indoor gathering area) without a key. There is also a key entry to the area from the beach.

People have been known to let others in, and at times the key entry from the beach has been broken, allowing tresspassers. But, especially during the busy times, the cast members do room key checks and ask those without a key to leave.

I completely agree with the last post. Unless something is broken down, the room key is needed to get into the beach club from the parking lot and the beach.
