Do you include the gift receipts with the gifts you give?

I always do! When I give someone a gift, I would much rather they return something they don't like/already have than have my money wasted on something they will never use!

I always appreciate when people include gift receipts as well. Most of my family doesn't and it can result in some awkward situations.

That's the reason I always include the receipt - I don't want people to feel awkward asking for it.

My DSM gets around the "losing it from taping it to the box" by giving each "head of household" an envelope with all the gift receipts for that family's gifts in it, which is super nice. (She's so organized they're all labeled, sorted, etc. I can only hope to be that organized someday!)

And, yes, I ALWAYS give gift receipts!

For friends, including my kids' friends, I always fold the gift receipt in on itself - so it can't be read - and tape it to the card.

For family, most times we tell each other if we need the gift receipt. When shopping I'll always write on the top of the slip who the gift is for so I don't forget later. My mom usually puts each person's (or family's) GRs in an envelope and give it to us. So much easier that way than hunting for them later!

I do, when I remember. It's just easier that way, if they want to return it, they can and I don't have to know about it.
