I'm sure you've all seen those memes on social media that state when your alarm goes off early for work or some reason or another, you just don't want to get out of bed. But if you're going on a Disney trip, you hop right out of bed full of energy. This is totally me for EVERY Disney trip I go on. My family leaves for DL tomorrow. I'm setting the alarm for 5 am so we can be on the road by 6. If I was getting up that early to do yard work, I'd be dreading it,lol. I remember when I went to WDW in 2017. A neighbor was picking us up at 3:30 am to take us to the airport. My alarm was set for 3.I went to bed a little after midnight and woke up 15 minutes before my alarm clock so full of energy. Are any of you Disers the same?

We travel all the way from Australia for our Disney trips so we are always SUPER excited for the holiday but not so much for the extremely long haul flight to get there. This time we are starting our holiday in Hawaii, then hopping over to San Francisco for a couple of days. We will arrive at Disneyland after a morning at Alcatraz and a much shorter flight into John Wayne Airport. I'm not sure how engaged I will be at Alcatraz as I will be checking my watch all the time counting down the hours till we get to the most Magical part of our trip. Can't wait.

I usually have a morning flight and the airport is 1 1/2 hours from where I live, so I'm lucky to get more than a few hours of sleep. I'm one of those people who always thinks of something just before I fall asleep or jolt awake wondering if I remembered to pack XYZ; I generally get up at least twice to make DOUBLE sure I packed my charger or my sunglasses or my hat etc. By the time I fall asleep, it's almost time to get up! But I'm usually glad to get up anyway.

My dh just throws stuff in a duffel and falls asleep when his head hits the pillow. He doesn't go to DLR anymore but that's his MO for any trip. My dh teases me about my list...I have to check things off my list (usually 20 items or more) to be sure I got everything. But it's so much easier for him because he'd be perfectly fine going almost anywhere with 2 outfits, a toothbrush, and an extra pair of flip-flops and he's not the one packing the sunscreen, food, first-aid supplies, etc.

Some times if we have an early start I don't even go to sleep because I don't want to have to wake up groggy. We drive, often try to leave at 4 or 5 am from DS's house, which is 45 minutes away from our house. (I'm the co-pilot - my job is to entertain the driver, so I never nap on the way there.)

But once I'm in the park, I never feel sleepy and can close the place down (and I've been doing this for 65 years - no spring chicken).

I'm exactly the same way, DizMe. I'll be in bed and either get up to pack something or send myself texts so I don't forget in the morning. I shouldn't need to do this, as I start packing like 3 weeks ahead of time and should have everything ready by the night before the trip! And of course they have stores in Anaheim so I'll be able to replace my sunblock or whatever I forgot.

For travel day, yeah...I'm usually pretty excited and want to get going. (Though I hate flying!)

But once we're there, we don't get up super early and rope drop or anything like that.
