We don't hibernate. There's plenty to do outside...ski, sled, skate, make snowmen, hike...as long as the weather cooperates by chilling and snowing.
And when we arent' having fun outside we come in a do house projects (paint, re-decorate), cook (especially bake), do puzzles, play board games, visit with friends, have parties, stuff like that.
Not all that much different than other times of the year...just more clothing to wear
The only other difference is there is less yard work to do on a regular basis, once we have the mountain of fallen leaves all picked up 
Some people in the neighborhood even bought those outside fireplaces to set up in the winter so the grown ups can sit out in their chairs and watch the kiddies sled more comfortably.

Ok, now I can't wait for it to snow!!!!!!!! 
We have several tiki torches that usually sit in the shed all winter. That won't be the case this year!! Thanks for the great idea!!!!!
