Do you have vertigo and did you get the Covid vaccine?

I have minor BPPV and had no issues with the vaccine. My mother has MAJOR BPPV and had no issues either.

My mom has vertigo and had no issues after her J&J vaccine (actually she had no side effects from the vaccine, period).

I had BBPV a couple of months ago, did a maneuver suggested by the doc which realigned the crystals in my ears (hubby and I joked my chakras were out of line) and all was well. I'm all done with both Moderna shots and while had plenty of problems with the second shot, vertigo was not one of them.

I am hearing of more and more people getting vertigo as a side effect from the vaccine. I already have BPPV Vertigo) so now I am even more terrified of getting the vaccine. Do you have BPPV and did you get through the vaccine without an issue? A friend of mine also got vertigo from Covid.
Thanks for any insight!
Yes, I have BPPV which is always one head turn away from a full blown bed ridden episode. I have both doses of Pfizer, with no effect, either way on my BPPV.

Which vaccine are you talking about? I know several people who had covid and still suffer bouts of vertigo, one pretty severe -but I haven't heard of anyone post-vaccine. It is clearly a symptom of Covid, but given that the Pfizer vaccine doesn't "give you" Covid it seems hard to imagine it would cause vertigo ...not that it's impossible, just that it wouldn't be covid related.

From what I am reading the vaccine causes an immune response and in some people can cause inflammation in the inner ear which brings on vertigo. Have heard this about both Moderna and Pfizer.

I have BPPV and visual migraines and got the Moderna vaccine. I haven't noticed any reaction except for a sore arm the night after I got the shot. We got the vaccine on Friday and Saturday night my arm hurt when I rolled onto that side in bed.

I had vertigo come on within seconds of my second injection, but I have had vertigo for a while as a symptom of my migraines so it's not unusual for me. I was still able to drive myself home and I'm pretty sure there was no sign of vertigo by about a day later, and I have no way of knowing whether the vertigo was from the shot or just a coincidence that it happened after I had the shot. I received the Moderna shots.

I do get vertigo (maybe 4 times in 5 years - 2-4 weeks each) but did not get it after either Moderna shot.

I get terrible vertigo with migraines, bad enough to put me in the ER. I had mild, mild, mild vertigo with Moderna. I’m glad I got the vaccine and I’d do it again. I guess it all depends on what your triggers are.

I have vertigo. Have had almost 20 years. It can be severe. It happens more often than it used to.

I had the Moderna. I had no vertigo issues. I actually haven't had any bad episodes since I had the vaccine. I am almost 6 weeks out from shot #2.

Glad to hear!

Everyone in my family is fully vaccinated. My daughter and I ran a fever the day after our second shot but that’s it. No one else had any side effects. I had my second Moderna shot on 3/4. I’ve flown to Disney and returned and been home 3 weeks. Neither my husband nor I has had any issues. I feel great and I’m planning my next trip. All my my coworkers were vaccinated in March as well and we are all going out tonight. No one had any problems with the vaccine. We did lose 3 employees to Covid though.

I also have periods of severe vertigo and had no issues with my moderna vaccines.

I have BPPV that only comes on when I go from standing to lying down or vice-versa. I had no change at all to the condition (or any other discernible side effect) from the AZ shot. “Terrified” is a very harsh and exhausting emotion - sorry. :flower3:

Only skimmed replies.

The only thing is that spring is usually allergy season - this year being particularly bad - and seasonal allergies can cause vertigo because fluid builds up in the head and gets inside the inner ear.

Not trying to downplay this at all, because I have had vertigo twice before which included ER visits, MRIs, bilateral ear infections, months of worry, and such.

But I think people should also consider this as a possibility.

This is how I'm looking at it, too. I have every kind of head uneasiness -- migraine headache, visual migraine, dizziness. It all gets worse in the spring with allergies. So, yeah, I'm experiencing some of this after my Pfizer shots, but I'd bet big money I would be anyhow because spring is always bad. And as a prior poster said, I can't even imagine what covid would do to my head. No thanks.
