Do you have to wear life jackets on Ill. Cruise?

I would like to hear from anyone who has done the Illuminations Cruise about the life jackets.Do you have to wear them all the time or are they just on the boat incase you need them?I have read somewhere that you do not have to wear the life jackets but they do have them in case they are needed.Need to hear as soon as possible. mickeys_friend@hotmail.com

No you do not need to wear them. I did the cruise last September and no one in my party (4 adults) wore them.

They aren't required for adults. Kids under a certain age (8 or 10, maybe... I'm not sure) are required to wear them, though.

On "Breathless," children under 12 had to wear them in Aug. The children complained about being very warm. (But they had a fun time they said.)

When we went last year, we had a child with us who was a couple of weeks shy of his 13th birthday- our captain made him wear the lifejacket. I wish we had prepared him, it slightly put a damper on the evening - he pouted at the back of the boat!

All children 12 and under must wear the jackets while on the boat, its not the driver's rule it's Disney's. FYI, adults can request a jacket if they want, and there are always 12 regular issue life jackets stored under the pontoon seats on the IllumiNations Boats.
