Do you have to uninstall MDE to update for Android phone?

I read that MDE updated for most to remove the 50th icon and whatever else the update brought, but my phone still shows version 7.23, it's now 7.23.1.
Does Android just update later or do I need to uninstall - reinstall?

When I go in the play store, it says I have the most up to date version as of March 24, 2023. It probably hasn't pushed out the newer one to the play store yet.

I have iPhone and noticed the app still had the old 50th icon. I deleted it and reinstalled it and now it has a more generic icon.

my android updated automatically to latest version and icon. no uninstall required. wouldn't hurt anything to do that though.

I have Android and mine updated itself as well. I was just asking hubby about this subject this morning (he is an IT person) so I didn't even know what the current version was. Just checked it and I'm on version 7.23.1 so it did it all by it's little self.

I've never had to uninstall to update MDE on my android.

I updated the app and restarted my phone. The new icon was there after.
