Do you have to stay in Disney to utilize the Disney Dining Package?

We are staying offsite at the Sabal Palms in May but would love to be able to use the Disney Dining Package. Is it possible?

Disney Dining Plan is only available as part of a package that includes an on-site hotel reservation and your tickets. Don't feel too bad though, the money you're saving by staying off-site might be enough to off-set it.

You can also get it if you're doing a Disney Vacation Club thing, but I don't know the details and you still have to be staying at a Disney property.

No DDP has to be part of a pkg that includes paying rack rate for your room plus at least a one day MYW ticket for everyone in your room.

AP holders staying on site can't even get it unless we're willing to give up the AP room discount (pay rack rate) and buy a one day ticket.
