We just went for breakfast last week and made an ADR. It didn't seem overly busy but I would expect dinner to be busier. I would make one if you know you want to eat there.
The one in downtown disney gets very busy at dinner time. We went one year and it was a 2 hr wait. We decided not to wait and went back earlier the next night and it was a 45 minute wait.
Their location at the Animal Kingdom takes ADR's made through WDW-Dining. At the Downtown Disney Marketplace location you need to call them directly for reservations, so WDW-Dining can not make ADR's at that one.
Thanks! I had no idea there were two. I'm hoping to eat at the one in AK. I was figuring it was probably too late to get an ADR and wondered if we could do a walk-up. I'll give WDW Dining a jingle just to check in!! Maybe I'll get lucky.
You never know. I've walked in before with a 5 minute wait, called that day and told no reservations were available, and shown up with a reservation and heard the hostess say it was an hour and a half wait. Typically we eat there for lunch.
I've also done entire trips without getting ADR's, which I wouldn't do again.
I didn't think RainForest took reservations but we've never made them before. We always eat at the DownTown Disney RainForest and when we usually eat lunch like around 1 or 2pm we go up to the entrance tell the host or hostess "table for 4" and after 10 or so minutes we are led inside and seated at out table ... no fuss no muss!
We've never encountered more than a 20 to 25 minute wait for the Cafe so even if they do have them ... I don't think reservations are needed!
When my family and I have been to the location at Downtown Disney we like to eat there early between 4:00 PM and 4:30 PM, because we have never waited for a table. So after we gave our name they said go to the Elephant or Gorilla line and we were seated at our table within 5 minutes or less.
