when you go on a vacation weather it's to disney or some other vacation are you like me ,and have to clean your house before you go? i don't know why,but before i go on any trip i have to make sure the house is clean. i guess its to make sure that i don't have to deal with a mess when i get back.

Absolutely. I have been known to vacuum while the luggage is being loaded in the car. The last thing I want to do when returning from vacation is to clean. It all gets done before.

I plan to, but usually run out of time. I like to come home to a clean house.

I do because I can't stand to come home to a mess! The last thing I want to do is have to clean when I return. I like my return to be nice and stressfree!

I do for a couple of reasons. One, I want to come back to a clean house that doesn't need vacuuming and dusting right away. And two, if something happened to us while we were away (in the hospital or worse :guilty:) I would be really embarrassed for people to come into my messy home. I know it's totally illogical but ..... :confused3

I do but mostly for the fact that my house is staying clean for more than 10 minutes;) Also because if for any reason someone has to go in I like it to be clean and tidy. Does anyone clean out the fridge? We have practically nothing left when we leave and I go food shopping after we come home. I hate the thought of food sitting in there while we are gone.

I like to come home to a clean house after vacation. Sometimes we run out of time and don't get everything done, but it is always preferred to not have that part of reality smack us in the face when we get back from a trip. Doing all the laundry from vacation is bad enough :laundy:

Yes, I clean my house before we gon on vacation. We also often do laundry when on vacation. I prefer to just come home, unpack, and go on with my life without a big "to-do" list.

Yup...clean house, clean out fridge, and laundry hampers completely empty before I leave the house!

It's nice to come home to clean bathrooms, no groddy food in fridge and only the vacation laundry.

Yes! And right before I walk out of the door, I pour Pine Sol in all of the toilets. When you come home, there's this great smell of "clean" all through the house!

absolutely, I love, love coming home to a spotless house after vacation.

I clean, grocery shop, put out lots of towels and extra of everything. For the pet sitter. We're so grateful we have friends who come and stay at the house and watch our babies. Well, now there one less :sad1: but it's been really great.

Yep, I clean the house, do all the laundry, and clean out the fridge before we leave. And I'm another one that is known to be vacuuming and putting laundry away as the car is being loaded. Coming home from vacation is depressing enough, especially if we've been at Disney. The last thing I want is to have house-work waiting on me when I get home. Blech!

Yep, count me as one who must have the house spotless when we leave. we always take a very early flight (7 AM) so I don't go to bed the night before until everything is clean. Then after we're dressed in the morning I just wipe down the sinks & put out fresh towels as we walk out the door. My DH thinks I'm nuts. So I'll have to tell him this is normal Dis behavior! :rotfl2:

Great tip! Thanks for sharing. I'll have to try this. :goodvibes

I like to come home to clean house so yes I clean. I make sure the fridge is cleaned out (freeze anything that can be used later), make sure dishes are done, laundry is clean and out away, sheets are changed with beds made, the cat litter is changed (the usually go stay with my Grandma when we go out of town and we use a different litter box there), and all rooms are vacuumed.

Add me to the house cleaners. I ran out of time one year and it was miserable to come home from vacation to a mess. Now the rule is the week before we go, the house is cleaned top to bottom. All laundry is done, frig is cleaned out, etc. I even do my laundry at the vacation club so when we get home I just "unpack" into the closet and I can enjoy being home.
