Do you have to be able to dance to audition?

there are equity roles that are just acting they have auditions for actors where they call for monologues but they are very completive roles as there aren't as many as them.

Do you mean meet & greets? You don't have to dance for those.

If you mean shows though, with "real" acting, see PennyLou's answer above.

But there are definitely people who have been characters who don't dance (and have ended up in parades.) ;)

I am a performer and love every minute of it. Here is an answer to your question.

FOr Character performers:
1. Your addition will be for whats called Face or Fur which will place you in a chatagory depending on if you look like a Disney character (face). Fur is a charater with face covered.
2. Your addition will include a dextarity (SP?) portion where they might want you to pretend your changing a tire on a car and you have to go through the whole thing. They want to see how thourogh you are such as getting the flat remembering to open your door when you get out of your car or popping the trunk etc..
3. They will then let you know either right away if you have a position or they will call you and let you know. It differs sometimes.

Later you can go for whats called color coding: Color coding determines what type of dancing your good at doing if any. Such color codes will allow you to perform in parades, stage shows, etc. But you do not have to be color coded to gain a character performer position.

I hope this helps! Good luck!

Are there any acting jobs at WDW where you don't have to be a dancer?

As a former Entertainment Cast Member, I can assure you that it isn't important that you can dance. ;) I can't dance to save my life.

I managed to get placed in a show, too. Not sure how that happened. Luckily, they ran through the dance over, and over and over and.. you get the picture.

That's so cool! Who did you get to be friends with?

I spent most of my time with Chip and Dale. Loved them! Spent the rest with Cinderella, Snow White, a Santa Elf, Kermit, King Louie, Mr. Penguin, Figment and Gideon.

I went to an audition this past winter and the first part is a parade "dance" (if you can call it a dance) across the floor. Mostly, they're looking for attitude than perfect steps. So if you really want it, show them by being the bounciest/happiest person in the room :cheer2:

Also if you're really tall, really short or look like a face character, that will really help your chances for the first round too :earsboy:
