In my old town, we had Bruce Springsteen (most of the band), Bon Jovi (most of his band), Cher, a former Met... I can't remember his name, but he was older. Oh, and now Derek Jeter moved there.
In my new town, she doesn't live here anymore, but Ashley Tisdale. When my DD was modeling, they had the same agent, and both my DDs go to the same dance studio as Ashley did.

Atlanta has a pretty large hip-hop community, if I recall.

My friend was MARRIED to one of them..ugh!!

Believe me I know about the "hip hop" community. I used to traffic a hip hop radio station here. Like I said, most are POSERS!

I believe so. Bobby Cox's 'Atlanta' residence is just 5 miles away from me. I know there are more here, but it just doesn't matter much and I don't keep track.


And there are several that live down the road in Atlanta.

I'm in Marietta too, Alton Brown lives here I've seen him at my Publix.

I did back in NY, not so much here. The people who consider themselves "celebrities" in Atlanta are mostly POSERS!!

Elton John had a condo in Buckhead at one time not sure if he still owns it.

Nooohohoho. Not in my lil' ol' town, But not far away is Mooresville/Lake Norman, NC where many NASCAR driver's live. Also, as someone mentione dupthread, Chris Daughtry isn't far away and Fantasia Barino too.

Kasey Kahne lives on Lake Norman I want to go hang out there at some local bar. I read the name of his 'hang out' once that he takes his boat to, that's where i need to go, with DH of course so he can keep me under control.

The girl that played Sara on CSI evidently is from our area. They did a write up in the paper about her a few years ago.

We don't have anyone that I'm aware is a current celebrity in the area. I do know someone that lives here who has been on one of the CSI and on Army Wives and a couple of other things. But he isn't someone who is well known as he has not had a lead role in anything, yet.

If it is Warren, I would have to say my DH! He thinks he is one absolutely amazing person. He reads absolutely everything Warren writes and recently watched the MSNBC program where Warren and Bill Gates spent 2 hours talking to Columbia U/NYC MBA students @ Columbia. He watched it several times.

Here in Savannah we have Paula Deen of course, and all of her clan. I have seen each of them: Paula, Michael, Jaime (w/family) and Bobby at different times at the Publix grocery store near my house.

Owners of PUBLIX live in my town. They may not seem like big celebs to most here on the board, but they're multi-billionaires (yes, BILLION, not million)...probably worth far more than most of the celebs mentioned so far.

I know a few pro golfers live here...no longer recall exactly who. Susan Sarandon's mom lives here also.


ETA: Almost forgot that George Jones and Tammy Wynette lived here years ago...right next door to DH. That was before I knew DH. He *adored* George and I understand that most people did. (At least way back then.)

My new SIL was next door neighbor's to George and Babs (sort of-she was the personal chef for the family that lived next to them but she lived in their house ).

We don't have any in our town that I know of but the town I grew up in, 12,000 people, was home to Jessica Lange and Sam Shepard-they lived about 4 blocks from my old house (they have now moved), LaVerle Spencer (author), one of the former Timberwolves players but I can't remember his name (Christian Laitner maybe???), Chuck Logan (author) is back yard neighbors with my sister, a few "local" celebs live there as well. They have filmed a few movies in that town too, does that count?
