I haven't seen him,and not sure if there are others living here, but friends have seen Sherman Hemsley around. He played George Jefferson on All in the Family and The Jeffersons.

I think he lives close to my friend because she's seen him at a gas station and the closest grocery store. A mutual friend has seen him having breakfast at a restaurant close by.

Andy Petit had a house around Deer Park, TX. I taught his niece in Jr. High. And Trent Lott and Emeril own houses close by where I currently live.

My new SIL was next door neighbor's to George and Babs (sort of-she was the personal chef for the family that lived next to them but she lived in their house ).

We don't have any in our town that I know of but the town I grew up in, 12,000 people, was home to Jessica Lange and Sam Shepard-they lived about 4 blocks from my old house (they have now moved), LaVerle Spencer (author), one of the former Timberwolves players but I can't remember his name (Christian Laitner maybe???), Chuck Logan (author) is back yard neighbors with my sister, a few "local" celebs live there as well. They have filmed a few movies in that town too, does that count?

You must have grown up in Stillwater? One of my fave towns..

Can't think of anyone from MY town. But Loni Anderson is from the next town over.

Oh, an Robb Quinlan (plays for the Angels) is from my town...

and Dave Grohl (lead singer of the Foo Fighters) had a house here up until a couple of years ago. I ran into him at Safeway a couple of years ago and had a chat.

I went to a playdate at football player, Mark Brunell's house a couple of years ago. His house was AMAZING.

We have several Washington Redskins in our neighborhood - Jason Campbell, Chris Cooley, Santana Moss, Clinton Portis.

Hilarie Burton (One Tree Hill) is from my hometown; not sure if her family still lives there or not.

Used to run into a lot of politicians and news people growing up (waited on Ollie North and Sam Donaldson at my part-time job). They lived near me, not in my hometown.

Our local guy (in the county) is Stedman Graham. He and Oprah fly into the Cape May airport. (tiny) It is rumored that she owns a home in Stone Harbor.

Last year, Oprah spoke at a community event and gave one million to a scholarship fund.

There might be other celebrities that own homes in Cape May/Stone Harbor/Ocean City. They wouldn't stay here in the winter, however---not much going on.

My husbands grandparents had beach front property in Avalon. They told me that Nora Roberts bought their house.....I questioned them a million times and they stood firm (not sure how they would know I was a fan). According to MIL....famous author and her husband came over and said...take what you want and leave the rest for the bulldozer. She also swears is was her....I only know that they built a hell of a of house on that property.

I live in the land of Pat Robertson. I *think* his home is in Portsmouth but he has land all over the place and owns Regent University in Virginia Beach, which is where he tapes his show.

And Tommy Newsome(deceased) moved back to his hometown of Portsmouth when Johnny Carson retired.

Can't think of anybody else.

The closest "star" I can think of is a popular soap opera actress from ATWT who lived in the same town where I used to live before I sold my house..

She's no longer on the show, but she still lives locally and does local commercials on tv..

I live in Hollywood North - also know as Toronto, Canada.

So we have tons of Celebs living here just not usually longer than the length of whatever movie is being filmed at any given time.

but we do have a bunch of resident celebs - just can't think of any at this time LOL

i'm not a celeb watcher since i live on the edge and don't work down town anymore so i don't see them but i used to.


i did run into Kurt Browning (figure skater) last year at the Science Centre - dh and I were there with dd and Kurt was there with his son. they two kids played in the water area while the parental unites chit chatted for a few minutes.
