Do you have any special online friendships (inspired by Desnikk)

I do! I met my friend on another Disney board and we were both pregnant at the same time and talked online for quite awhile. We met in WDW in December 2000 for the first time and our families have gone away for a long weekend to Lancaster went to Hilton Head together last summer, and try to get together a few times a year.

We also have come to the complete understanding that whether they like it or not, our children are going to marry

Yes I do. I have had the luck of meeting two real life sisters right here on the DIS. You might know them as Princess Michelle and Mickey's Sunshine but I know them as my two sisters.

When we finally got to meet in September it was like I had met the other two parts of me. We have the same silly sense of humors and we love to laugh. My son adores them both and wanted to go live with Christine in December.....she wouldn't let him though

I've made more great online friendships that I wouldn't trade for anything but I had to specifically mention my two sisters who I would do anything in the world for.

i have several special friends i've met via the internet...

of course...my swan/dolphin cheerleader friends! and my DIS Claymates...

i do have one friend in particular. i didn't meet her on the DIS, but in another GWTW related group. she and i have bonded and talk just about every day. we have yet to meet in person though. one of these days!

Yes. I've made several special friends here. I'm not going to try to name them for fear I'll leave someone out.

I'm probably closest to the angels, because we talk every day. We are tuned in to each other's lives and families.

I have 2 great friends that I met online from a chat. The first I talk to almost daily. Mostly we talk on ICQ but we have talked on the phone too. One of these days I'll get her to meet me in the Chicago area. The other is a guy that is sort of the brotherly type that I talk to every few days. I always know with him he'll tell it to me like it is and wont sugarcoat anything.

I just had to mention all of my "new" great friends on the single's thread. Although our group thread hasn't been around very long (mid-October) we have got a great core of wonderful people and an amazing post count in such a short time. It was through that thread that I was "introduced" to its OP Sandy (also known as Pin Wizard). Although we haven't met in real life (maybe one day...if she ever gets her butt moving on planning the "fair" meet ) we talk just about every day. If I didn't have her to run to and IM as soon as I have important news to tell I would go crazy.

I made a friend on the internet a few years ago (not on a dis site) as we are both teachers and her class became email pals with mine. A few years later she has visited me in the UK and has been to my work and myself and my DH has stayed with her in Arizona and at her mums house in San Diego when we went to Las Vegas last year. It was great for all of our kids to meet the teacher that their kids had been emailing.

Oh most definitely!!!!! Too many to name... they know who they are too (I hope at least ) So many here are much more than friends to me... they truly are family. I am blessed to have each of them in my life!! I've met some, unfortunately not all... even plan vacations or share rooms with a good number of them too. One online friendship lead to meeting, dating and marriage. Nearly 10 years later I have to say it worked out quite well!

I've made several friends on various on line forums (not just Disney related). And I wouldn't have been able to visit WDW last December if it weren't for an on line friend (who I had met before) who allowed the two of us to stay with her (& her husband).

I feel that I have been given a special gift of freindship here. I have met some people in person, others I may never get to, but there is a special group here that seems to have melded into a little family. I can come to them for advise, laughs, prayers, recipes, actually anything. Getting to know people via the internet is really no different from meeting someone at a PTA meeting or in the grovery store line. You know pretty quick if you can be friends and go from there.

I still have contact in various forms with many of them, but there are two in particular..... one is my DW (DD2Disney) and our friend Kim, who was the Matron of Honor at our wedding.

My wonderful internet Swan/Dolphin "Sigma Delta" sorority sisters and bros! We haven't met in the flesh, yet but they are wonderful people and I enjoy our daily chats on the S/D thread on the Resorts Board. You know who you all are.

Yes, I have made a great friend through the internet; she read my trip report when it was up on Mouse Planet and we have been emailing each other several times a week since...we've even talked on the phone. Some day we want to meet up at WDW, but since she lives in VA and I live in OR, it may be awhile before that happens.
