Do you have any room request recommendations for a 1BR at Kidani?

We have a savannah view 1BR booked at Kidani for 3 nights during our upcoming stay (split with BWV). We're so excited to try AKV! Do you have any room request recommendations for good animal viewing or any other reasons? Lower level or upper level? Which savannah? We won't have a car so being close to the parking lot is not an issue. We do have 3 little ones. Thanks!!!

We spent a week at Kidani in August in a 1 BR. My kids definitely wanted to see giraffes, so I requested the Sunset Savanna (the Pembe savanna does not have giraffes). We had only stayed at Jambo prior to this stay, and all the DVC villas are on the 5th floor. So I also requested low floor, to see if it was any different. We were on the lobby level, so floor 2, and it was perfect! We had a great view of the animals. I know alot of people staying at Kidani request close to lobby, because some rooms are a really far walk. I figured 2 requests were plenty, so I did not add that one. We were about 1/2 way down the hall, and it was about a 6-7 minute walk to our room from the lobby. Not too bad. Have a good trip!

We stayed at the Rafiki section close to the lobby. It was perfect as it is on the side with the pool. Our request was close to the lobby and pool. We ended up being halfway between the lobby and the elevator that goes below to the parking area and the path to the pool on the thrid level. Perfect Location.

We were on the pool side, too. I remember walking one section down, then taking the stairs one flight to the parking lot and being right at the pool entrance. Since we were there in August, it was nice not to have a long hike to the pool!

I would request Sunset Savanna close to the lobby. DH and I were on the top floor, and I must say, I really enjoyed the view - instead of just seeing the animals that were right nearby, we could see the entire savanna and where the animals all were at any given time. I honestly don't think there's a bad view anywhere around that section, no matter what floor you are on.
