Does anyone know what an OPI is?

Let me explain because I am not sure that is right either :confused3

A friend went through a nasty divorce, she was trying to sell some stuff on Craigslist for money. Well, the ex somehow found out and is now raising a big stink, over a $30 dollar item! Anyway, she was asked anonymously "haven't you ever heard of an OPI" (I am getting this second hand) so they are assuming this is how he found the item.

Anyone have any idea how they found the item on Craigslist, actually two items. No way it was just a luck he found them.

Thanks to anyone who can give me some insight.

I know there are some really smart people on the DIS!

Google is your friend. Do they satellite broadband? It could be an "Outdoor Pointing Interface".

MY guess is that they were referring to the Property Inventory that makes it clear what belongs to who.

My dh is a craigslist junky. It would be very easy to identify your own stuff. I don't agree with your "no way" assessment, it is possible.

I don't know what an OPI is however if the ex knows emails, screen names, etc..I imagine you could use search engines to find stuff out.:confused3

I didn't mean he couldn't know it was theirs at one time but to just look up a toy, tire chains in the summer and a canopy ALL at the same time? The SAME day she listed it? He cleaned out the house while she was gone I guess he knew what he missed maybe he was searching daily for those three things, I don't know. The divorce took a year and he fought for everything he left including the bed! He needed the bed so he and the chick he had been cheating with had an extra bed in their new house. So yeah he could have. He turned her into Craigslist for selling things that didn't belong to her, funny her divorce papers state anything left in either ones possession as of the day of divorce was theirs to do with what they want. She was not trying to pull a fast one.

Not sure what the connection is with a Craiglist item for sale, but the term "OPI" is tied to a divorce settlement's distribution of assets. I think it might be the judge's "opinion" on how the assets were to be divided.

For example, my friend's wife changed the locks and left his bags on the front porch. It took a court order for him to get back his "personal items" such as diplomas, yearbooks, briefcase, etc.

If the item belonged to the ex-hubby, he might have an argument. Perhaps the decree says that she has to give him the right of first refusal before selling it to a stranger.

How he found the item on Craigslist? If she told anyone else, they might have tipped him off. It could have been innocent: "() told me she's cleaning house via Craiglist."

My friend found his ex-wife's profile on a dating site before the divorce just because of the location. It's a small town, so the listing caught his eye. When he opened it, he realized it was his estranged wife.

The search engines are capable of finding specific items. If he knew he left it behind and she might sell it, he could have been keeping an eye out for the item's description.
