Do you have any family members that you cannot stand?

I hate to admit it, but I have a cousin that absolutly drives me up the wall...

We used to be okay friends but some things happened in his life that made him change a lot...I lived with him for a while...It took everything I had NOT to blow up at him..he made me insane!

Hope that doesnt make me a bad person..I love him to death because hes a family memeber....but man listening to him talk is like fingernails on a chalkboard!!!!

I have a cousing, I love her dearly but...she is 30, never has had a job in her life. Lives at home with her father, mother died last year suddenly. She has no friends, no goals, refuses to do housework. She wakes up around noon, takes care of the family cats, rose bushes and gossips about family business she doesn't even know about because she refuses to talk to anyone! She won't even go to coffee with her siblings for one night. I think she actually believes when her father passes away that one of her siblings will just welcome them in their home. Now she infuriates me!

I could write a novel about mine and dh's.

I have a cousin who I can't stand. I call her snotty Dotty because that's exactly what she is! She has this air about her. She thinks she's better than us because she was the validictorian of her high school class, and she went to an ivy league school, and she graduated from law school and went on to work with a well known political figure.

Luckily I don't have to see her very often.

MIL and SIL! They are two of a kind: Rotten all the way to the core! They are self absorbed and pure evil. Just thinking of them makes me sick to my stomache! :crazy2: :headache:

Not anyone who's a member of my family any longer (my ex-SIL and ex-MIL)

My MIL's sister and her entire family...too much to go into but I could smack each and every one of them if Im in close enough range. Fortunately I do my best to stay away...very far away.

Oh boy, I have a doozy for a new SIL - so glad I live 8 hours away from her.

I almost feel guilty, as I never answer the phone when she calls - I love caller ID!!!! I love my DB and all, but SIL is a psycho - doubt it will last long, but if it does - better hold on to my hat!!

All my relatives are okay at least to very dear.
DH finds 1 SIL to be Bossy and overbearing but I just think she is the most like him!

I have a few but the one person that really gets to me is my aunt. She is such a whiner and a know it all. Just her name makes me mad! She is really causing trouble currently and it is driving me crazy. My grandmother (her mom) is ill and all she is concerned about is her inheritance. She even called to tell me she was upset I already spent mine :confused3 I didn't even know I was getting anything and as of yet I haven't!! Chances are there wont be anything left anyway so I am not even counting in it. Oh well:rolleyes: Nothing I can do about it. Some people!!

My aunt drives me nuts, I was trying to avoid talking about her but maybe It'll exorcise the demon!;)

It's a long story, but I used her phone on 9/11 because it was the only one that worked, she has a private phone at the beach house that no one is supposed to use. I was calling all over the country, and wracked up a huge phone bill. She was mad about it, and made me pay her! She's such a jerk. I'm still resentful to her about this, years later!:(

Maybe TMI, but...
I have an uncle (by marriage) that always seemed a little too much of a flirt. When I was 16, all the cousins went over to his house for a back yard campout. He drank too much (why was he drinking when all of us were just kids?) and proceeded to grope me. Yuck! The next day he blamed it on the liquor. Uh, even drunk, why would a 50 something year old look at his 16 yo neice that way? Made some very akward holidays, let me tell you!

Excuse me; I don't mean to hijack the thread - but Minniepumpernickel - why shouldn't you be responsible for the charges accrued on calls you made?

They were your calls, weren't they? Is there some other information about them that you didn't give? If someone racked up a huge phone bill on my phone, I'd expect them to pay for it.

Again, not trying to stir things up or judge you - but just on what you wrote - I don't understand why paying the phone bill for calls you made would make you angry.

Gee, if someone called all over the country and wracked up a huge phone bill on MY phone, I would expect them to pay for it too.

Well, it was during 9/11. I kind of thought that the world was going to end, and no one was going to live through it. If it had been a normal day, I wouldn't have had to use her phone, because mine would have been working!

Did some of the people on here forget what 9/11 was like? This is the misery board, so we should at least all remember days like that!

Yeah, but you did live through it and if the bill was as huge as you claim you should have at least offered to pay your aunt.

I have not forgotten what 9/11 was like, but I also don't think it should be used as an excuse for someone's rude behavior.

What is this on the community board today! Rude and judgemental day??

Hope you get off on it, I'm putting you on ignore!:(

I don't believe I was being rude. Perhaps a little judgemental and for that I'm sorry. Your post, however, just struck a cord with me. You said your aunt was a jerk for making you pay for a huge phone bill you racked up on her phone and your reasoning for not paying was that it was 9/11. In the months that followed I think you could have at least offered to pay her. That's my opinion and I'm entitled to it.

Ignore away.....

BTW, I am thankful that I have no one to add to the OP's list. My family, while odd at times, is wonderful and I am so thankful to have them.
