Holly will turn six on Nov 28th. Thankfully the new birthday rule is that when you turn five you go from parties to your choice of dinner out and movie..the only time all year we go to the movies lol. No other gifts either. The girls LOVE doing this more than they did having friends and fam parties with presents..yea I totally lucked out lol.
Mine's the 27th, and I've always resented it. People are poor and tired of partying from Xmas/NYs. Every year I swear I'm going to start celebrating it on my un/half bday instead!
Terri
PS Also have a cousin and relative of a relative who are Christmas Day babies.
The latter half of the year is nuts for my family:
Aug 13th- Mom's bday, Sept 13th- Sister's bday, Oct 1-Cousin's bday, Oct 2- Gma's bday, Nov 9- Aunt's bday, Nov 28th- MY bday, Nov 29th- cousin's bday, Dec 2nd, Godbrother's bday, Dec 16th- Dad's bday.
So yeah, the second part of the year is usually one big blur for us.
My niece has her birthday on Decemeber 2nd (every year, imagine that! )
Since she is the grand Pooh-Bah of Grandkids (the ONLY one) she is spoiled rotten to the core. And we wouldn't have it any other way. The best thing about her having her birthday so close is that sometimes she will nicely ask for one big thing instead of two things for each celebration.
This year, she's been really nice and just asked for cash. We think we can do this!
I did get her that Betsey Johnson bag she wanted, though. I couldn't resist!
I also have a cousin who was born just after midnight on January 2.
MIL and FIL and oldest DS were also born in Jan - all less than 30 days from Christmas.
OTOH. I have a several cousins whose birthdays routinely fall on Thanksgiving. And DH's birthday and all his friends were born in the week leading up to Thanksgiving or on Thanksgiving (yeah, the whole friend thing, that's kind of weird actually and I'm totally not kidding about the all thing).
ETA - my family is a holiday magnet. I have an Aunt and cousin who were born on July 4th, and my Jan baby was born on Martin Luther King day, and his brothers were born on April Fool's and Flag Day.
