Do you have any DISers on an Ignore list?

I know that there is an ignore feature on the DISboards. How many of you use this feature? What does it take to get you to put someone on your ignore list?

I have never put anyone on my ignore list. I suppose if there was ever someone who I felt was personally attacking me I would, but I haven't gotten that point yet. I can't imagine ignoring someone just because if differing opinions, but I'll have to admit there have been a few people that I've almost ignored for that reason.

I guess if nobody replies to this I'll realize that I'm on everyones ignore list.

There are some posters who continually annoy me, but it's kind of like a train wreck: I have to see their posts just to see what they'll say next!

To answer your question, yes I have several. What gets me to put someone on ignore? Nastiness and ignorance. I have a short fuse for both of those.

I admit, I have two people on ignore, and it's not because they argue or disagree with me...it's because they are a total buzzkill everytime I see them on a thread. So I just don't see them any more!

Yes, I use my ignore list. Every once in a while I need to clean it out when someone is banned. Then, I have to add their new name.

I didn't even know about this feature. If someone is mean or nasty to me, i just ignore them, don't need to make a list for it. But thanks for the tip.

Do you not see any posts from that person? What if they are quoted by someone else - I assume their quote will show up? I figure if they are controversial enough, someone will quote them, and therefore you will be exposed to their posts anyway. I guess "ignore" will at least stop them from attacking you personally.

I haven't had a need for it up until now. A poster would have to be consistently rude and nasty to me, to the point where I got nervous about what I said in case they attacked it. On the other hand, everyone else will still read what they wrote in response to me, so really, I'd rather be able to see it too, and deal with it appropriately.

There is one person I'd like to ignore, but I agree, it's like the train wreck thing-omigod, did they really SAY that?

It's not that they're mean, just incredibly stupid and ignorant. My favorite comment was about calling 911 on your cell phone if you need directions.

I have one person on ignore. Basically because I have no desire to read anything this person writes and I feel weird sharing cyberspace with them...so I just blocked them from my space.

Yes, if someone quotes the ignored person you would see it.

Maybe you all are right and I don't have anyone on my ignore list for the whole train wreck reason. And I thought it was just because I'm open minded and like to see the other side of issues. Yep, you all are on to something! I also think that my bad memory is another reason I don't ignore people--I forget that they've said something that made me angry.

Now in my personal life there are a few people I'd like to put on my ignore list!

Makes me wonder who is on everyones ignore list. Not that I'm going to ask and sometimes it's obvious who is being referred to, but it does make me curious.
