We have this but it is 'painted" apparently they don't sell the full color ones anymore. I think about getting more pieces, sheep, shepherds, wise men etc. but haven't yet and probably won;t if I can't get them full color

My favorite nativity scene was in the neighborhood where I grew up. Just your typical light-up plastic figures but the neighbor rigged baby Jesus's light to flash like a disco ball.
I have a flat metal yard stake Nativity set. About 2 x2 feet. Besides the three main characters, I think there is an angel and maybe a lamb. It’s still in storage so I’m not sure.
When I was a teen my family had plastic blow mold nativity pieces. Each one had a light bulb inside and got plugged into long extension cords. I haven’t seen such pieces for sale in about a dozen years. We had a cow, sheep, the Three Wise Men, etc.

my favorite was in a town we used to live in-it sat in front of city hall for years but then people started complaining about the whole separation of church and state concept so the original figures were swapped out for re-creations in the likeness of smurfs and the peanuts characters
I would love to have an outdoor nativity but people are so incredibly disrespectful and sometimes hateful towards Catholics (I have been shouted at on Church steps at St. Josephs in Boston and there are other stories in and around Boston) that I feel putting anything outdoors is an invitation to desecration. If I was living in a more tolerant place I would put something outside people could reach, I won't even put my lovely St Francis statue outdoors here, it is inside facing the birds that visit instead of outside as I did in PA and as intended.
I ordered an outdoor star of Bethlehem we plan on putting on our Juliette balcony.

That is appalling that anyone would vandalize something on your private property; that is your space to celebrate whatever religion you choose, that is one of the whole founding principles of this country! I say you put up your display and add a motion camera. If someone chooses to break the law and violate your property, have them prosecuted! Everyone should be free to celebrate whatever they want, this season and every season, without fear!
