Do you have a view of the MK fireworks from the campground?

Well maybe someone is there right now and can let us know about the music,,,JK.

I'm just curious because we're making a night of the campfire, fireworks and water parade when we're there next. Want to get a good spot.

Also what's the info on the nighttime hayride? Is it every night? cost? time?

I looked up scanner frequencies for WDW and found these frequencies pertaining to fireworks
461.700 STEP (S.T.E.P. FIREWORKS)
466.700 STEP (S.T.E.P. FIREWORKS)

I also found this on another list
464.200 STEP (Fireworks) – Paired with 466.700

I don’t know if this is what they transmit the audio on or if it’s control personnel, but it may be worth checking out. I'll give it a try with the handheld scanner next time I'm there, maby I can find how they transmit the audio and have my own personal sound system.

thats very interesting........when I was at the dike I noticed they were pumping water out of the canal back into bay lake with a diesel generator......meaning there is no electricity at the cabin/ dike area.......and I doubt like hell they ran a audio cable from the marina to the dike........if there is music (IF) its definately transmitted wireless.......that would explain absolutely no speakers........

I wish we knew someone who has been there when the mystery music was playing........

You all have to stop telling people about that secret fireworks viewing spot. :tiptoe: :crowded:

I totally agree now stop it. This is a spot you have to earn and find it yourself.
Next trip I will need a fast pass to watch the fire works from there.

I just talked to a friend that was there a few weeks ago and they said the music was playing behind the 300 loop, so as of recently the speakers are working :)

So go head out to the 300 loop and enjoy the music while you watch the fireworks!! :cool1:

Yea, we probably shouldn't be telling everyone about where you can hear the music for the fireworks, soon it will be just another "secret" place at the Fort that is no longer secret.

From now on, we will only talk about the secret spot to listen to the music with the fireworks, we will not give directions...lol.

maybe the music is carrying over bay lake from MK if the wind is out of the north west..........

its funny no one here has pinned it down yet.....the myth continues I guess...

You're trying to egg this on, please stop. Numerous people in this thread have said they have gone and listened to the music behind the 300 loop for the fireworks. Why do you continue to say that none of us are saying we've heard it, when lots of people obviously have??? All you are trying to do is cause another argument, 3 people alone in this thread have said they have listened to the music behind the 300 loop, yet you continue to call all of us liars.

has anyone here been at the dike/cabin area behind 300 watching the fireworks......if so did you hear the wishes music.......if you did could you pin point where it was coming from( the MK across bay lake, a speaker on the ground, a speaker on a truck,etc....)

thanks:flower3:

Yes, I've been there and it comes from speakers. Just like three or four other people have said in this thread as well. Even on a great night you wouldn't be able to hear the music from the MK in that location, you can't even hear it from the Polynesian/Contemporary which are much closer. And even if you could, it would be barely audible. These are speakers in the ground, the same one's that Disney has hidden throughout the Fort over the years.

Thanks.......I usually walk down the service drive (gravel road) that leads to the Settlement Trading Post ......it will take you right there...

still nobody here that can answer the music mystery.....:goodvibes

Sigh, I give up.

The rest of us will just go listen to the music behind the 300 loop, sorry that you can't hear it.

Why do you care where the speakers are actually located?? For all I know, they could be in fake rocks, fake tree stumps, etc. Disney has excellent ways to disguise things. And, they probably use conduit so they can bury the speaker wires and electricity underground.

The cabin on Bay Lake that you refer to (so that OP's don't confuse that one with the Cabin Homes you stay in) has been there since at least 1974 (the first time I saw it) when it was used to sell snacks from when FtW had The Marshmallow Marsh Canoe Trip.

You obviously need proof as to the existance of these speakers so, the next time you are at FtW, I suggest you go on an excursion to find the speakers, take pictures of them and put the pictures in a scrapbook to treasure and remember for all time.

BTW - When is your next trip to FtW planned for?

where are these ground speakers located you speak of????????

its funny :lmao: why can't anyone here pin point thier location.........

again .....I looked this area over good for the mystery speakers and found no evidence of any.....but it still is a neat location to watch the fire works........even if there is no speakers playing music....

2GOOFYCAMPERS- Ya see???!!!???? Sharp as a bowling ball, baby!!!!:lmao:

thanks debbie :flower3: we saw the otter!!!!!!!!!at the docks at the marina.....

our family was there at the fort Feb. 2-17 we had excellent weather ( first 6 days were in the 80's.......

my girls and i walked the service road to the dike/ cabin and looked for the mystery speakers (and lizards)...;)

sorry but no speakers were found...........

Can you remember where you heard the music from at that location??

was it coming from across the lake???

We were back behind the 300 loop in I think Oct of 06 or 05. We took a carriage ride, and told them we wanted to watch the fireworks, not go on the ride to the wilderness lodge. We were taken to the beach behind the 300 loop. The hayride wagon was already there, full of people. There was also a WDW pickup there, with it's doors open. The hallowishes fireworks started, and the sound, THAT NIGHT, was coming from the speakers in the pickup truck. When the show was over, I briefly spoke to the disney employee in the truck. Then we resumed our carriage ride.

We have also been back there, on another carriage ride, during fireworks time, and we were the only one's there. No music was heard that time.

Yea, I think that was what was alluded to before, that they play the music over certain channels on the frequencies, so probably the pickup trucks can pick up that music on their scanners.

Unfortunately Fort Wilderness speakers have a tendency of breaking down a lot, it's happened at the marina, at the walking path to the Settlement, I swear they don't have much luck with their speakers. Not really sure why either, they shouldn't be any different from anyone else's, and it's not like it rains more than any other place in Florida. They must need to hire a new electrician...lol
