I was just reading about Pal Mickey. That seems really cool. I was wondering how many people actually rent one. Is it worth the money?? If you buy it, does it work the next time you are there??

We bought him when it first came out, and he is going back with us again. I think this will be his fourth trip. And yes, he does work every trip. If he needs to be reset, they can do that at each park. The kids love him!

Technologically it sounds as if the receiver chip in the Pal Mickey can be reset easily to the current transmissions in the park. Sort of like a radio, cell phone, or satellite TV receiver.

Pretty impressive for under 100.00 really. I have bid on one on eBay for our Sept trip.

From my understanding they are about 70.00 in the parks and not available in stores. The ones on eBay appear to have been used during a visit.

I had a friend that went in May and she got two pal mickey on Ebay and when she got to the park neither one of them would work. She took them to several of the stores there to be reset, changed batteries and still ended up buying new ones in the park.... So beware!!!

We have 2 Pal Mickey's and my girls love them - worked great in the parks and they are played w/ at home ALL the time, too! I got lucky and bought them brand new from a Disney store in Orlando (over the phone) when they clearanced a bunch out - think we paid less than $20 each... it was a great bargain and well worth it! Pretty interesting stuff he tells you, too - we like him as much as the kids do!

We have a Pal Mickey. It's the HCOE edition, although we felt the tux was a little formal for touring WDW so we bought him the outfit with the WDW hat and shorts and camera and stuff. We love him. He's been on 2 trips with us so far. I'm thinking of getting 2 more b/c my dds all want to hold him.
