Do you have a name that is either misspelled or mispronounced?

Kitty is fairly easy for everyone to spell and pronounce!!:bounce:

Now my DH and son Michael, get their name spelled wrong quite often. I even have to stop and think for a second before putting the a before the e!!:)

My turn!!!!

It doesn't bother me if someone were to misspell my first name...there are lots of versions of Gail.

It's truly funny the mistakes people make with our last name - Paras. It's pronounced like Paris, France but we frequently get calls for Mr. or Mrs. Perez.....or my personal favorite, Par-***!

My name is Lorelei....... but my Mother spelled it Loreli and wanted it pronounced "Lah-Ra-Lee" Now what kind of a stupid name is that?? I spell it Lorelei (except on legal docs) and pronounce it "Lora-Lie" Someday I'm gonna have it changed legally......

Especially when I was a kid, I was always called Eileen instead of Elaine. My last name isn't so easy either. People never seem to pronounce it right and it is similar in spelling to a couple of common first names for females so at work, especially in e-mails, I am always called by my last name or one of the two first names it looks like  My poor husband, Luis, never gets his names spelled right or pronounced right. At least it is easy for us to tell who the telemarketers are right away ;)

My poor DD SONYA, she always gets called SONJA!!! But she corrects everyone....now our lastname....that one I heard in so many different ways ....

I'm MICHELE with ONE L....everyone spells it with 2.

Me too!!

And for some reason, I was always "Micheal" in school. Roll call was the worst. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..............

My Name is Nathaniel... I grew up being called Nat. Well I am in sales and everyday I introduce myself 5 to 10 times as Nat... With out fail the first time the customer asks me a question... They say Nate. My boss laughs all the time about it.

my name is Alisha, people mispronounce it and misspell it all the time, because it is not the usual way to spell it they think that it must be pronounced differently. I hate it when people do either, I get it all the time and it really bothers me.

My name is Denice not the usual Denise. No longer bothers me when people misspell it. Drives my mother and husband nuts. When my Dad died and they put my name in the obit. my mother was really upset. It's just not that important to me.

I basically have 3 first names-4 if you count my middle name: First name Jean, middle name Marie, maiden name Gloria, last name Fay. I've lost track of how many times I've been by the wrong first name. My favorite wrong name of all time though is a promotional letter I received from Staples offering me 10.00 off a purchase-it was addressed to Dr. Jean Gloria Fay, Jr. they not only made me a Dr., but changed my gender and made me a Jr.

I too am a Ginny! And I also have been called Guinea! In fact my online name which is also a nickname my mom has called me for years) is derived from this.

Once I asked the ignoramous if he had ever heard of anyone named Guinea. He just didn't get it.

Mostly I get called Jenny. My old boss would get really irritated by this and correct people (he would actually spell it for them).

Spelling - wise, I have seen Gennie, Jinny, Ginnie, Gina...you name it!

My last name is relatively simple - but gets mauled almost as often.

By name is Bennet not Bennett

DD is Kelley not Kelly

My first name is Kathi and of course it get spelled with a y on the end all the time. Doesn't bother me, knew when I shortened it that it would be wrong a lot. Last name and Schaeffer is there are just to many variations of the name so unless I spell it out for someone, it never is right.

My last name rarely gets misspelled or mispronounced: Brown, like the color... Not Browne. :teeth:

But my first name is Theresa, and it often gets spelled Teresa, which I can't stand.

My nickname is Terry which most people spell Terri, or Teri, or Terrie, etc. I have 5 older brothers, and when I was very little I remember asking them how to spell "Terry" and they told me, letter by letter... T....E....R....R....Y. Maybe if I had asked my sister she would've spelled it T....E...R....R....I... LOL But I've stuck with "Terry" all these years. :)

Our DN's name is Jon and he is constantly getting John even from fairly immediate family

And his girlfirend's name is Crissy (short for Crystal) you can imagine the versions of that especially Christy LOL

I'm so glad somebody else gets called "Guinea" too! I can't believe how often that happens. You'd think "Ginny" was a completely unheard of name or soemthing!

Also, my husband's name is "Nathanael" and he always gets it written down as "Nathaniel".

You bet I do.............always have done & I guess always will.

My boys get it too, being JADYN he gets Jayden, Jadon, Jaydon, Jaiden etc.

and LACHLAN for some reason a name so simple, so many cannot spell it. He gets Lauchlin, Laughlin, Locklan, Lochlan etc.

My maiden name was a doozy too............glad I married someone with a common surname.:teeth: :teeth:
