Cheapest iphone here is 199.
And the plan SUCKS, it's 60 bucks a month. That only comes with 72 texts.
I hate Rogers.
anyways, I don't believe any 12 year old needs a phone. Yes, maybe they do need to call home, but there are pay phones at a school right? Your friend probably has a phone. In my case my parents were usually somewhere where I could contact them, so I took the only phone we had, the family phone.
An expensive phone, like an Iphone, with text, internet, gps, etc, is really not needed for a 12 year old.
I got my first phone at 15, almost 16. My parents pay for the voice, and I pay for the texting (and internet, but Id on't use it). Basically, my life hasn't really changed since. I don't text too much, I mean other than to my bestest bud (who was my boyfriend lol) and I n ever use the net.
I used to horse-ride at a stables half an hour away from where I lived and I used to compete and hunt in that area as well, there's absoloutely no way I could have walked home or predict what time I'd finish and so therefore I needed a phone to ring my parents to say when I was ready to be picked up. No I didn't/don't need an Iphone with a camera and internet etc but if thats what my parents buy then that's what they buy. But I didn't get an Iphone, I started off with a Motorola V220.
