I am 12 years old and I really want a cell phone. I was just wondering if you have a cell phone. Aslo, what do you think is a good age to get one?

Of course I have a cell phone, I'd be absolutely 100% a wreck if I didn't. How could I call people when I needed to get a hold of them? How could I text? Ah.

Anyway, mine's a Samsung Hue. It was a dark blue cover with yellow polka dots. I will be getting a keyboard phone sometime...soon. Hopefully. I used to have a Moto Q but had to take it back.

I have a env2 from verizon. Love it.

I got my first phone when I was 10. I think that is too young to get one, but I traveled a lot with college athletics so I needed one to stay in touch with my family when I was out of state. I think that 13 is a good age though, depending on maturity.

I have the sony ericcson w910i on contract with T-mobile.
I'm every parents dream with a phone though, I never go over my limits. I use it primarily to text and for the camera/video.
I had my first phone when I was 11 and it was a pay as you go deal so I couldn't run up huge bills

Yeahh, I got my phone for my 14th birthday. I'm like 14 1/2 now. No offence,
but 12 is kinda a young age to get a phone. 13 at the earliest.

1 more thing my mom said she might get me a cell phone if I show signs of maturing, so any ideas of what all I could do. I've been doing stuff like cleaning my room without being asked, taking my dishes to the sink and stuff like that.

Clean the house, do the laundry, keep up your grades.

I would just keep cleaning and offer help around your house . I hope it helps.

I got mine when I was 13, & I think that might be too young. I rarely used it but it made me feel powerful to have it anyways.

I say you should wait. They're really no big deal, especially for someone who can't really go places by themselves. (You can't drive yet.)

I did get my phone at 13 however I never really used it unless I was going out with a friend.

Another good thing about a Trac Phone is you can limit how much time you can have. Try asking your parents about this type of phone.

I didn't get my first cell phone until 14 becuase I just started high school and needed it to call my parents after sports and such. 12 seems wayy to young.

But the phone I have now is the Samsung Glyde by Verizon. I love it. And the keyboard is perfect for texting.

I'm 13 and I have an Iphone. I got my first phone when I was 12. To show that you can handle getting a phone do things to help around your house. I had to take perfect care of all my things because if I ever misplaced something it just gave my parents an excuse to say " This is just one of the many reasons why you shouldn't have a phone". If I ever broke something my parents would say " See??? What if that was your phone".
I Hope they decide to give you a phone!!!

I have an ATT Quickfire, and it's my baby.

I got my first phone at 12, but it's only because I was in field hockey. My buses would always be late and my mom would wait in the parking lot for hours with other parents. She then gave me a phone and said, call me when you're 5 minutes away.

IMO, if you're not in any extra curricular activites or a personal problem where you'll be away from your parents from hours upon hours, you have no business having a phone.
